Shake it like a Polaroid picture...
So Christmas vacation has just about come and gone and here i sit at the computer on the last non-school night. Im gonna give a little wrap-up of what this vacation entailed...
Christmas shopping and wrapping!!! AHHH, i shopped a lot this year and got my family some pretty decent gifts. I got a coach purse, tiffany and co. jewelry, fossil watch, new ski boots, stuff to go skiing (money) lucky brand perfume (mmmmm), lotsa pajamas, shannon made me a blanket, brian got me an AE sweater but they forgot to take the ink-sensor thing off so i had to bring it back. HAHA, jess got me pink fuzzy slippers!!! LOL. Ry-Ann got me how to deal dvd, a yoga journal, pic frame... cool stuff!!
So on Christmas day, my dad had been planning for Brian and I to go to Hyde Park with him to bring my grandparents their gifts. Well, dad had a 103 temp. so he couldnt do it. So i went all the way there with brian and then straight down to plymouth to the other side of the fam's annual christmas party. it was a lot of fun as always. I got more pajamas, a hand-made scarf from donna and certificate to sunday river to go skiing!! yay!!!
The day after christmas i mostly cleaned up my room since it was full to the brim with presents. Then i worked on packing for the ski trip with jess.
Saturday morning got up bright and early and got to jess's house by 9:10 for the BIG trip. I met her Aunt Sandra and Uncle Bubba who were going too. The ride was actually fun. Me and Jess spent the majority of it lyp-syncing with her cd player and dancing like idiots. and we saw a phat pink car with a guy driving it. HAHA, girlie-girl racing!!! I started to read my book from Jess, tuesdays with morrie... seemed to be good.
So we got to the condo which happens to be Coach Lane's...? I dont really know him but he sure has a nice condo. We made the beds and settled in, then watched the Patriots' big game. We won! HELL FREAKIN YEA. It was the beginnings of an aweseom ski trip.
Jess did my hair really cute with braids and straightened it nice, and we all went to the woodstock inn for dinner. way before we even got there, i was telling everybody to dance when the band comes on. so we got there and had to wait like an hour and we played some sweet trivia game. GO FLUBBA! So finally we got seated and ate and the food was good. then we were hanging around for the band to come.
the band finally came and they were gross old men,,, they were playing like classic rock or something of which i dont know (diana woulda!!). so, we were waiting for a fast song. finally something upbeat came on and i was like LETS GO!! so, me, jess, her mom, and aunt sandra got up and went to the tiny little dance floor that was totally empty and we shook what our mommas gave us while being watched by everyone at the bar and throughout the restaurant. then, three drunk wack-job ladies got up and danced next to us. so the song finished and the band guy said really serious and monotone, "thank you dancing ladies." lol... so we went to sit down to see what they would play next and three foreign hairy men came from the bar to a table next to us to drink their drinks. they were staring at me and jess and kept saying "muy bonita, muy bonita.." we were like give us a break.... oh man. so then jess's dad realized that one of the guys was trying to sell him a toy car at the silver city galleria a week before. HAHAHA, random huh?! then the band announced it was a hott guy's 21st birthday. so everyone sang to him and i dunno, im not one to be into myself or whatever, but we kept making eye contact. it was weird... i dunno. so we danced some more and left when the band took a long-ass break.
we went to bed and set three alarm clocks to get up at 6:30ish. so after suffering numerous heart attacks the next morning, we finally got up and headed to the mountain.
i was pretty nervous since it was my first time skiing this season and i had new equipment. i fell three times total that day, sunday, and jess showed me how to take my turns better rather than make a continuous pizza. haha. so i didnt fall again after she helped me out, altho i was much slower than most of the people with us. i stuck with jess's mom and if i got scared, id follow her lead. good times. So this ski day turned out pretty good after i was frustrated with myself and jess helped me learn better technique.
later that afternoon, back at the condo, me and jess took a two hour nap when we were supposed to make meatballs, but we were damn tired. so then we got up and everyone decided we'd get pizza. so it was an hour wait and me, jess and her mom went to pick up the pizzas at elvio's. jess sat in the car and kim and i went inside.. it ended up being like a half hour more to wait. AHHH, annoying. but we finally made it back after missing the big michael jackson interview, and ate lotsa pizza.
then, everyone played pictionary and my team (me, jess and sandra) won!! haha, it was pretty funny. it got pretty late and everyone went to bed so we could get up early the next day again.
6:30 am and we were up again.. jess had to jump on my bed to get me up!! we got to the mountain and i decided to take some lessons to get even better at skiing and jess rented a snowboard and wanted lessons for that. so at 10, both jess and i went off on our lessons. my instructor was an old guy and he had no idea how to teach anything. i learned how to wait in line mostly and that was it. at one point, he took off and our group lost him. finally, we found him but god, he was psycho.
so at 12, after 2 hours of grueling lessons, everyone met up and we had lunch. haha, it just so happened that a cross saber's bus was there and there were taunton people.. kinda ironic.
so we hit the slopes again at good ole' loon mountain and i did much better than the previous day. i did not fall at all, thankfully!! today was the better ski day even tho it was really icy.
so, that afternoon me and jess took another nice nap and then showers. they made meatballs while i was in the shower : ( .... and then it was dinner time. good meatballs i must say! lol, after all that hype! after food, we played balderdash which is definitely one of the top 5 games ever. we schemed against bubba and put fake ice with a bee in the middle of it in his drink. he thought there were bugs in the faucet. LOL, it was pretty hilarious. A dorking is a five-toed English chicken. lol. whodda thunk it?!
the next day, jess and me slept til like 11 cuz we could and we got dressed and then went to see cheaper by the dozen. the movie was good altho we were surrounded by little kids and u could see the microphone throughout the entire movie. after that, we had some time to kill so we browsed in all kinds of stores.
then we got back and got ready to go out to eat. we went to truant's tavern and had to wait a while. we played pool and foosball while sipping our shirley temples.
finally it was time to eat and we all got our food afte a lonnng wait. jess only got half her haddock and the waitress said she was going to bring her some more. then she said they lost power in the kitchen and later brought it out..... weird. in the meantime, some old guy kept staring at our table so we all turned and stared back.. haha, sucker. then me and jess shared some cheesecake and we were being obnoxious and feeding each other since the guy was looking at us so much. hahaa, funnay!
the next day, everyone cleaned altho i feel guilty for not helping out more. we were on the road by noon i think. I finished Tuesdays with Morrie and cried to myself since it was a sad, but good book.
We got back to Taunton and I was sad that this fun, relaxing ski-week was over. THANKS JESS!!
I knew i would have to face reality, but little did I know reality would be so mean. Ry-Ann's father had passed away on Monday night and I, her best friend, was not available to help he rin such a difficult time. I spent the New Year with Ry-Ann at her pal, Allie's house. Thursday, I relaxed around the house and went to Bertucci's with the fam and saw Mona Lisa Smile with Shannon. It was an awesome movie!
Friday, I worked from 9 to 10:30 and then got brian and went to Ry-Ann's dad's wake/funeral. Ry appears to be strong and was so through the entire thing, but I honestly am waiting for her to fully realize what has happened. In any case, this ordeal has again made me realize how lucky I am to have my parents who are both there for me. I also appreciate my mom more since she has a brain aneurysm and I'll never know if someday it will take her from me. All in all, I just want to be here for Ry-Ann in this tragic time of loss.
Today, I got my hair did as Missy Elliot would say it. I got it trimmed a little bit and highlighted again. It looks cute, I hope anyway. : ) Then i worked on some college stuff. I feel a little bit less-stressed about some of it! YUCK.
Tonight, I went to Taunton's hockey game with Jess. There were some real hotties there, not to mention any names!! Taunton beat Durfee!!!!!!! After the game, me and Jess went to Friendly's for some girl time and ICE CREAM. Fun as usual.
This was my last Christmas vacation and I think it was one of the better ones I've had. I can't wait to see what 2004 has in store for me because if it gets any better, I'll have to date a hottie and make a lot of money!!!! Ciao!
