Welcome to my family
On Friday, January 11, 2008 we will have a new addition to our little family. Yes, Buddy and Ruby and getting a little brother. His name is Paul. Paul is a 3 year old Shepherd Cross; he weighs approximately 48 pounds and may not go home until he is neutered
Paul came to us as a Georgia transfer so we have no background history on him. He is a lively guy and is housetrained. This friendly soul likes men and women. We do not know how he will react around children. He seems to be fine around other dogs but does exhibit a stubborn streak from time to time. He will need a firm yet fair and positive leader who will be consistent in training. Daily exercise is a must. Paul is currently being treated for heartworm and may not go home until he is neutered.
He is actually very sweet. We met him yesterday (all except Ruby) and everyone seems to get along. He's a little smaller than Buddy and is mostly black with the brown markings. We went to PetsMart today and got him a food bowl, a bed, a harness, and a collar. He's being neutered on Tuesday. I'm off work on Friday, so I'll go get him around mid-day (the shelter opens at 11am) and then we'll have 3 days of supervised life. Definitely separate everyone the first few nights, but we'll see how it goes by Sunday night.
