Feeling good about NaNo
My happy Zokutou word meter is down right now, hiding from the early month rush :P. But still, that won't keep me from crowing about having made significant progress!
9072 / 50000 words. 18% done!
Lookie! Over 9k words in three days! I'm quite proud of myself for that. If I can keep that kind of word count up, I'll hit 90k. And that's sort of exciting :).
The story itself is also going well. I'm establishing characters and moving the plot forward with a few moments of action. The magic system has been introduced, as has the first major character conflict and the first group in conflict with the characters has been seen and explained (in a way that makes them seem worse than they actually are :P). We're moving north toward actual conflict now, followed by more problematic explanations that aren't 100% correct (for whatever reason) and then there will be the running and the catching and more running and then I'm getting too far ahead of myself. But suffice to say there's good stuff still ahead and the characters have no idea what's in store. Makes me happy :).
Well, I still can't seem to update on the NaNo site. I'm going to go take a shower (and plot out bits for tomorrow) and then try to update once more before bed. It's nice to be on a roll.
