Ninninger vs Tokyuger: Ninja in Wonderland Movie Review!

Jan 27, 2016 13:44

Watched this today and there were only me and two 30+ year old men watching it xD

This movie ended up being a lot more enjoyable that I was expecting. I really don't like Ninninger and in fact throughout this film I sat there and thought 'I can tell you A LOT about the Gokaigers, Goseigers, GoBusters, (why do I watch all the ones with Go in?), Kyoryuger etc. but I cannot tell you a single thing about the Ninningers except Yakumo went to magic school in England and StarNinger is from America' which PROVES how much of a SHITTY job they've done in character development this series!! Ugh... but anyway...

They showed more of the YuGiOh movie compared to the nonrevealing one we saw during KR Genesis. I am SO gunna see this film! The preview gave me so many feels and excitement!!! And I think we get to see Yugi vs Kaiba again and OMG my childhood <3

I liked the whole being thrown into dreams sequence, especially the spy one!! I wasn't a fan of the wedding one though.
And I like how the ToQers came to help them in the dreams but it took SO long for us to get to Light!! His probably got the second shortest screen time after the Orange Ranger =[ BUT I do love his outfit and he's so gosh darn cute! JUNJUN IS A CUTIE!!!!

I really liked the story for this movie, the whole dream state and then being sent to the Shadow Ninja Land and I was REALLY all for Taka disappearing for good! xD Hide also 'performs' a rock version of the theme song which was VERY enjoyable! I need that on a single <3 but of course the downside was, Taka didn't die -_- course he came back. I couldn't quite understand how imagination and him not-dying worked though...

It turns out I have a thing for Japanese men with lisps! Mizu Atomu has one, Nishi Yukito has one, and ToQer green/Yokohama Ryusei has one! I freaking love how Japanese sounds with one <3 Also, Hide has to dress up as a woman in a kimono at one point and flash his (hairy) leg to seduce one of the bad guys xD It was so cute but also hot!! haha xD

I really liked the bad guys. I main bad guy, Marblo, is a well known minor actor so it was nice to see him! AND the other badguy's costumes were amazing! I especially liked the woman's! I'll see if I can find a picture... Nope. I can't find any pictures currently of any of the bad guys bar the main bad guy... But I REALLY liked the female baddies costume <3

Speaking of costumes, I really want Light's outfit! I mean that jacket! I'm a sucker for baseball jackets <33 I love them so much! But yes I freaking LOVE Light's costume! <3 Ooo but on the downside, the suit student men did NOT fit the actors body at all! It was weird seeing a skinny Yellow ToQger and then when transformed she had an obvious tight fitting in the suit and had more weight incomparison to her. It was just weird at how many stunt men were too bulky (most likely through muscle) to fit the actors body form in this movie xD

OMG! When Light was saying goodbye at the end he held the sides of Taka's cheeks and I was CONVINCED he was gunna kiss him cos he paused before saying 'bye!'

AND what?! They're kids but got 'grow into a teenager' sentai powers?! Is this true?? It so confused me at the end when they transformed back into like 7 year olds...

I really liked the cinematography during the Orange Ranger and Marblo's fight as they did like a slow movement and slow motion sequence which was really nice but it wasn short lived ='[ OH! We also got a Doubutsu Sentai appearance! I freaking loved Red! He has eagle wings on his suit and can fly!!! It was a cool moment! And there's a blue female ranger ^_^ I think when they swap around with green/yellow/blue/green ranger =]

What else can I mention....

Overall: I liked the concept and most of the story. I am a love of the theme song and it was great to see all the member dancing together at the end xD JunJun was an angel <3 I really liked the costumes and the cinematography too! But ugh Taka... just... please die. And I'm still not happy with Ninninger overall but this movie was enjoyable.

Raitng: 7/10
