OMG AN ACTUAL UPDATE. ON EL JAY. OMG.

I went out today, first stopped at Music Millennium and got a Shins shirt (Ship and Clouds, google it. The pink version). I wanted the debut CD from Howling Bells but although they had the tag/section divider/whatever the holy fucking hell those things separating artists in CD stores are called, they didn't have any of their CDs. Then I checked the price of the new Neko Case CD, it was 14.99 and I knew it was cheaper at Everyday Music so I didn't get it at MM.

Headed downtown after that, first to Powells to see if they had a book I asked about in whatwasthatbook and whatwasthatone, although I'd thought it was a short story at first, called Boris by Jaap ter Haar. Unfortunately they didn't have it and the guy said they were unable to order it. I think I can get it on amazon.com, though. After that, a scone and a blueberry Izze soda. Then I went to Everyday Music to see if they had the Howling Bells CD I wanted, no luck, the guy asked if I wanted to order it, I said "sure". I actually very rarely do this. He looked it up on his computer and after clicking a bunch of links told me that it was unable to be ordered, probably because it was an import. I did buy Neko Case's Middle Cyclone, though, and as I was walking out I suddenly remembered I wanted to buy some new headphones, too (I can say with certainty that I am never buying Radio Shack brand again), and I wanted the kind with the little volume control dealie on the cord itself, but they didn't have any of that kind. So I left and went to Buffalo Exchange, tried on a few shirts and an awesome pair of black and white pinstripe pants, which I'm very happy to say fit me quite well. One of the shirts didn't quite fit right, so I only bought one shirt, the pants, and a beige knit slouchy beret.

Walking home from the bus stop, it was about 9 pm or so, and I noticed a huge, bright, orangeish light in the sky. I stopped walking to see if it was moving. It didn't seem to be, and at first I thought it was Venus, then I thought it couldn't be, since Venus wouldn't be in the sky that late. I didn't think it could be Jupiter, either. The thought crossed my mind that maybe it was a supernova, but then I thought it couldn't be that either. I stood there trying to figure out what the hell that thing was, then it seemed to dim, and it turned, and then I saw it was an airplane. I was ever so slightly disappointed. It had been coming "toward" me, so it didn't seem to be moving from my perspective until it turned.

books, downtown, music, wtf
