Running on Empty

Notes: I'm going through one of my friends only writing journals, and adding stories and poems I wrote over here. Some of them

Title: Running on empty

I'm running on empty
Baby can't you see
Everything I do
Should take ten of me

Don't sleep anymore
Can't feel like eating
Too much to do
Everything else is fleeting

Been running on empty
For so long now
Don't know what it feels like
To have half your energy

You say you need to recharge
But what about me
You've still got reserves
Feels like I've got less than steam

Just want one whole Day
Where you take charge
I can hide it away
Sleep until it is dark

But I know that won't happen
So why even ask
I'll just pretend that I'm full
Everytime that you ask

poetry, original piece
