First Meetings

Summary: Kaylee and Simon meet for the first time
Notes: Written for Slayerfest 09 at whedonland It didnt' win, but I still quite like it. Also, first frigging drabble that was exactly 100 words!
He walked the crowded shipyard, checking both types of ships and where they were going. He needed fast, and he needed as far away from the Alliance as he could get. He knew he had given up everything for the box behind him, but there was nothing more precious than what was in that box.
“You should come with us.” A confident, feminine voice said. It wasn’t a question, but a statement. As if there was no arguments to be made and prices settled.
A vision under a parasol, a smile, and he couldn’t help but say, “Yes, I should.”
