Pillow Talk of Presents

Mar 03, 2011 00:28

“Ollie, are you awake?”

“hmmm… yea.” he responded slowly.

She craned her neck to look at him in the eye. “Are you really?”

He sensed her movement, drawing his arm to cup her nape. “Mostly. What’s up?”

She bit her lip preparing for this particular conversation. “You know how you said it was our anniversary?”

“Of which you proceeded to tell me marked our first year of this thing.” His hand ran through her tousled strands to soften the blow of his words.

But she still cut him a look. “I would tread carefully, Ollie or you won’t get your present.”

His hand slowed to a halt. He gaped at her. “Present? What present?”

She averted her glaze to the bed spread and said shyly. “I may have gotten you some things while I was away.”

She paused to bite her lip again. “I never forgot you while I was away. And I may have picked up some things that reminded me of you.”

He cupped her cheek to meet her eyes. “Thank you.”

“Don’t thank me yet you haven’t even gotten the presents yet.” She tried to joke to lighten the weight of her words.

He looked at her imploringly. “Chloe, it’s enough that you thought of me.”

“You were the only thought on my mind Oliver.” She said honestly. His eyes would accept no less from her.

“Okay give me a second. I had Flagg store them for me.” She picked up his shirt off the floor and walked into the next room. She returned a few moments later with a nondescript bag.

She clutched it to her chest. “It’s not much.”

He reached his hand out. She assumed it was for his present but instead he grabbed her and pulled her back into bed. She tumbled into bed landing on top of him.

“This, you and me together, is all I need. Everything else is the cherry on top.” To silence her protests, he kissed her slowly and thoroughly. By the time she snapped out of her Ollie daze, she was somehow of the opposite side of the bed on her back. He managed to open the bag. She blushed as he examined each object one at a time. His brown eyes taking in every detail trying to see what she saw.

The presents themselves were a hodgepodge of her travels. There were a handful of postcards with the skyline of each given city on one side. The messages varied but it always ended with ‘love, Chloe’. She picked out a black silk tie for him on the streets of Milan. It reminded her of his bravado on the infamous patrol involving Checkmate. In Gotham, she brought a set of leather gloves. It reminded her of his uniform. Even now, a silver of light hit the leather, it shone without the benefit of polish. At the height of the Green Arrow adoration, she purchased her very own ‘I ♥ GA’ mug. She got him a matching water bottle declaring that he was ‘Team Green’. He continued to rifle through the bag.

She couldn’t wait any longer and said with bated breath. “Do you like them?”

“I love them.” He said easily. He paused then grinned at her. “Almost as much as I love you.”

Her eyes sparkled. “I love you too.”

He scooped his presents off the bed and smoothly wrapped his arms around her. “I’ll never get tired of hearing that.”

Chloe didn’t respond verbally but instead took her now customary spot on his shoulder and snuggled in.

“So girlfriend?”

“Yea Ollie.”

“Since you got me presents, does that mean I can get you presents now?”

She nipped his collar bone and said “Oh brother.”

A/N: It was short. But by now I’m sure you all know my style. I love the simplicity of this drabble. Just Chlollie being them. With just a hint of trying to heal from their time apart. Tomorrow is Thursday so I will sadly have to start studying again. But I should be able to do one more drabble before the week is over. And in case anyone is waiting on it. I do have the WW fic mostly sketched out. I just have to sit down and write it. I was actually doing it before this one. But the iron was hot for this one. So ehh. I went with it. Review please. As always gift fics for those that do!
