Yes, indeed, I'm goin' in. There are six weeks until Heroes returns to the air - and in that time I am going to try to rewatch the season so far. I enjoyed it so much, and since Hulu is being so nice as to keep all the season's episodes available, I'm damn well gonna make use of that ( Read more... )

There are six weeks until Heroes returns to the air

Actually, it comes on January 4th (returns to 9pm the week after, but the season returns on the 4th.) So I think it's only like...four weeks away? :D

Congrats on the letter column, that's really cool. I never picked up an issue of the mag myself. I'm such a bad fan. But hey, it was expensive, and none of the articles were at all groundbreaking >.> I bought the Heroes Guidebook and it's basically most of the ENTIRE series of magazines thrown together in a book, heh.

Oh you're right. I can't count anymore, either. I am losing cognitive abilities at an alarmingly steady clip. :(

But still - 12 episodes, 4 weeks? Hell, yeah, I think I can do this.

The Mag got much much better in the last 3 issues (DAMN IT) - really great interviews, better print quality, great pictures. Oh well. That's the problem with fan mags; they can get away with really shitty content AND print quality, but the fans will buy it anyway because they're fans. :) I am a case in point. There was never anything new in it, but I felt good to own it and show my support. I have every issue. I have every issue of every magazine I've been able to find that has any Heroes content in it. This is the first time I've been able to actually AFFORD proper fandom, and I was happy to go for it. :)

Aw. If it'll make you feel better, read the latest graphic novel. GYAH. SO MUCH PETRELLICEST. It's like Ritual, in art. ^_^

I'd noticed the last mag looked better than usual...I hope they don't end it. I'll start buying if I must! Heh.

I also need to join the All Access club...yeahhh I really am a bad fan.

the webcomic? Yeah, lots of Petrelli love (although they manage to Joss Ritual canon - because I posit that Nathan had never before hit Peter. Punching him out for cheating? Uhhhh... and they just can't seem to figure out the age difference between them AT ALL. The ONLY way their age differences work is if Nathan is as much older than Peter as Adrian is older than Milo - twelve years. Because with Nathan's past - AS ESTABLISHED IN CANON - is to make any sense, he has to be at least that much older. But they just can't seem to get it - if Peter is closer to Nathan in age, that means that Peter is a total fuckup in his mid-thirties, and that just doesn't scan.)

That said, I did love the wrestling. :) And the "cherry popsicles" line, and the "falling asleep on shoulder while driving" line - if I didn't think they were reading Ritual before, now I know for sure.

I thought the ages seemed okay - I really don't understand where the wank in the Petrellicest community is coming from, there. If Peter was fourteen in that cheating scene, the way they drew Nathan totally could have passed for 26. If Peter was six in the baseball scene, then Nathan could have been 18. I think there's supposed to be a twelve year difference, and going into the comic with that in mind, I didn't see anything that rocked that belief *shrug* Plus, age is kind of ambiguous in art anyway. The only time I thought their ages seemed too close is when they were drawn in the wrestling scene, but that was only because Peter was WAY too buff, buaha. ^_ ( ... )

Pardon me if it seemed like wank; it just really kind of stuck out for me. It really should be within an artist's skill to depict the same character differently at different ages, and I just don't think he succeeded as well as he might ( ... )

Oh, I wasn't applying the word wank to you. As usual, you're pretty mellow and positive. I've just seen some really heated, pissed off comments about the GN though from the general fanbase which makes me sad :/ It's like...I do hope you'll appreciate this, because you see the brothers' relationship for what it is, but I'm sick of fans trying to delude themselves into thinking that Peter and Nathan were soulmates who wuved each other and never hurt a fly. I'm not a hardcore Petrellicester, and even I know that's crap. They're not past beating each other up. Or bitching each other out - I mean, LOOK at the entire Fugitives volume. Things were rarely peaceful in canon with them. Did they love each other? Well, hell yeah, of course. But it wasn't butterflies and rainbows, for sure. Often, their relationship was kind of enabling, and unsteady, but still manages to be attractive and enduring. And that's why I didn't feel offended by the punching scene because it's considerably tame compared to somethings Peter and Nathan have said/done to ( ... )

I've just seen some really heated, pissed off comments about the GN though from the general fanbase which makes me sad I am seeing heated, pissed off comments about EVERYTHING from the general fanbase. Oh well; fandom is crazy and insane. I thought I was crazy and insane with my levels of fandom and faith, but some folks are just wacko. Peter and Nathan love-hate each other; always have. Their relationship is passionate and beautiful and twisted, and yes, by God, they've wanted to kill each other for a long time. They won't let anybody ELSE do it, but they have layer upon layer of attachment and resentment and possessiveness. I personally think that's really hot... :) [and extremely inspirational, but them sexing each other is NOT CANON OK] and I don't need to romanticize it. It's plenty romantic enough already. I refuse to sugar-coat the Petrellis. They come from two bloodlines of cold-blooded murderers; and I don't care what anybody says, PETER killed Arthur, not Sylar. Sylar just got some good taunts in while the getting was good, ( ... )

I wish I had some sort of 'I love you so hard' or 'This comment is so great I want to have sex with it' icon, cause I WOULD SO USE IT RIGHT NOW.

Yes, yes, 100% word. If we're gonna ship Peter and Nathan, let's ship PETER AND NATHAN. You can't take or leave parts of a relationship you like, you know? We have to be with it or not, and accept that hell yeah, they're from the GQMFing dark Petrelli clan. And props like whoa for actually drawing inspiration from and embracing that, instead of shunning it away and looking at Peter and Nathan as if they are fluffy soul mates who'll run in a field of daisies towards each other with Moulin Rouge music playing in the background. *headdesk*
