Yes, indeed, I'm goin' in. There are six weeks until Heroes returns to the air - and in that time I am going to try to rewatch the season so far. I enjoyed it so much, and since Hulu is being so nice as to keep all the season's episodes available, I'm damn well gonna make use of that ( Read more... )

Pardon me if it seemed like wank; it just really kind of stuck out for me. It really should be within an artist's skill to depict the same character differently at different ages, and I just don't think he succeeded as well as he might.

I'm not pissed about the punching scene; all I'm saying is that it violates the in-house canon I've developed for my own fics (wherein I posit that Nathan has never hit Peter, so it has more fetishy impact when Nathan finally DOES hit him). It is actually totally in Nathan's character to hit Peter for cheating. It just Josses ME, that's all. (It's not like that hasn't happened before.) And yes, Peter loves to beat up Nathan; we've seen him do it repeatedly. :)

Some of the webcomics are better (both art wise, writing wise, and subject wise) than others; I have my favorites, and now this'll be included among them (along with "War Buddies", the story of Hiro's name, "The Ten Wives of Takezo Kensei" [featuring everybody's favorite, Disco Adam!] and "Truths", Arthur Petrelli's moment of remorse at the point of death - and also a Petrelli classic). I have the collected Volume 1 in hardback, I'll be getting Volume 2 as soon as I'm not broke anymore (hey Wednesday!) As wack as a lot of the comics are, I'm still very grateful to have them, and I believe in supporting the form (and the show). I still gnash my teeth every day that my own company didn't nab the contract for releasing the comics in print form, but I figure Jeph Loeb had his DC connection, so there you go (though Jeph has also written for us before).

Oh, I wasn't applying the word wank to you. As usual, you're pretty mellow and positive. I've just seen some really heated, pissed off comments about the GN though from the general fanbase which makes me sad :/ It's like...I do hope you'll appreciate this, because you see the brothers' relationship for what it is, but I'm sick of fans trying to delude themselves into thinking that Peter and Nathan were soulmates who wuved each other and never hurt a fly. I'm not a hardcore Petrellicester, and even I know that's crap. They're not past beating each other up. Or bitching each other out - I mean, LOOK at the entire Fugitives volume. Things were rarely peaceful in canon with them. Did they love each other? Well, hell yeah, of course. But it wasn't butterflies and rainbows, for sure. Often, their relationship was kind of enabling, and unsteady, but still manages to be attractive and enduring. And that's why I didn't feel offended by the punching scene because it's considerably tame compared to somethings Peter and Nathan have said/done to each other so far. *steps off soapbox*

Ah well, when you've covered as many bases as you have, it's nearly impossible not to be Jossed. My WIP Zodiac verse isn't even out yet and it's CONSTANTLY getting jossed as canon goes on, and I have to go back and reoutline. Canon - the suckiest, most awesome thing that ever existed, lol.

I would do prefer print GNS over online ones too. I have some print special GNs from comic con, but I'd feel like such a REAL comic geek if I had a two foot stack of Heroes comics on my table, ha. All the ones you listed though are my favorites too. I also like "One Good Hero", and "Walls, Parts 1 and 2" as well. The carnie novels have been pretty cool too, the ones without Lydia's kidlet anyway. Nothing wrong with Amanda; I'm just not terribly interested. I would rather read about Edgar and Lyd's epic forbidden love, haha. XD

I am seeing heated, pissed off comments about EVERYTHING from the general fanbase. Oh well; fandom is crazy and insane. I thought I was crazy and insane with my levels of fandom and faith, but some folks are just wacko. Peter and Nathan love-hate each other; always have. Their relationship is passionate and beautiful and twisted, and yes, by God, they've wanted to kill each other for a long time. They won't let anybody ELSE do it, but they have layer upon layer of attachment and resentment and possessiveness. I personally think that's really hot... :) [and extremely inspirational, but them sexing each other is NOT CANON OK] and I don't need to romanticize it. It's plenty romantic enough already. I refuse to sugar-coat the Petrellis. They come from two bloodlines of cold-blooded murderers; and I don't care what anybody says, PETER killed Arthur, not Sylar. Sylar just got some good taunts in while the getting was good, but Peter fired the weapon.

I wish I had some sort of 'I love you so hard' or 'This comment is so great I want to have sex with it' icon, cause I WOULD SO USE IT RIGHT NOW.

Yes, yes, 100% word. If we're gonna ship Peter and Nathan, let's ship PETER AND NATHAN. You can't take or leave parts of a relationship you like, you know? We have to be with it or not, and accept that hell yeah, they're from the GQMFing dark Petrelli clan. And props like whoa for actually drawing inspiration from and embracing that, instead of shunning it away and looking at Peter and Nathan as if they are fluffy soul mates who'll run in a field of daisies towards each other with Moulin Rouge music playing in the background. *headdesk*
