Darkness can break down even the most lit soul, it can consume and eat like a hungry man, tearing at all that is good, chewing and swallowing the light consuming every drop leaving nothing left to indicate that it ever existed. Darkness can drain the light where it had prospered, the darkness is evil and has no fear no friend and hates all. Uroe felt the call of the darkness.
As he spread his wings, they were long and skinny unlike any other fairy. He was tall and skinny, his face was long in feature his nose sharp, his cheek bones shot down to his lips, his eyes were also angled sharply, his hair was dark and straight, his teeth white and long, every thing about him was sharp. He smiled a broad fearless smile as the darkness began to call out to him. It slowly took the light from him. His eyes were strong and he could see in the dark. He smiled, he knew he was at an advantage.
Not knowing where the darkness was coming from he was at full alert. His wings ready to shoot him into any direction and with the quickness that only his wings could provide. He was not scared, not much scared him. The darkness began to creep in faster, this excited Uroe. Then he felt it, the wings brushed against his face.
How, he thought, he was alert, and faster than any fairy he had come across, this was impossible. Then it came clear, that wing was not like a fairy wing, it was not soft, not as delicate, it was strong, powerful, it was like a demons wings.
Gritting his teeth, Uroe withdrew his dagger from its sheath. Uroe could feel the wind of a creature with wings approaching, he readied himself.
Wings flew past him, he was certain that his dagger had caught flesh it felt that way, but there was no sound, no indication that what he swung at was hit. He narrowed his eyes and decided that he had to take the advantage. His wings pushed him up high into the sky, behind him he could hear the sound of large, bulky wings pushing and a low growl. He thought that he could feel breathing on his feet. Looking down hopefully to see what was giving him such a chase, but darkness made it impossible for him to see. His heart began to pound, he had never had to push so hard. The creature was relentless, Uroe thought that he, himself would run out of energy long before the creature would.
The first pain was in his left foot, it felt as if sharp teeth had sunk into his flesh. Not wanting to give in Uroe held back a scream. The second pain shot up through his back, a sharp pain that did not stop. He felt the instrument being pulled out of his flesh, falling toward the ground Uroe, using the last bit of his energy kept himself in a glide. With a rough slam to the ground and the darkness was gone.
uroe looked down at his body, he was covered in his own blood. His foot was bloody and his stomach was bleeding profusely. He applied pressure to the area, the blood slowed but continued to bleed. He heard in his ear a voice.
"My friend, the darkness can be your friend." The voice was raspy and scary. "I can save you, the blood will stop, the pain, you will be great, my friend." With that the voice was gone and all that remained was the decision to make. Uroe closed his eyes.
