sohee's jostled from her drowsy reverie when sunmi bounces onto the space beside her. the couch jiggles and for a brief moment they play teeter totter on the loveseat (for that moment, all sohee sees is eyes then a mouth, brown irises then pink lips).
sunmi is raving about something. sohee can only catch every other word. something about america and a tour with brothers? sohee doesn't know what the big deal is.
her ear pops when she yawns and wonders why her ears were plugged in the first place. sunmi smiles with lips like she's hiding her teeth. her eyes are still sparkling, even as half moons. sohee gets the sudden urge to smooth out sunmi's hair and run her hands through them with extra care.
"what do you think?" sunmi says, breathless.
"i think you're beautiful" sohee says it without much thought because it does take her more than a few minutes to snap out of her sleepy state.
meanwhile, sunmi blushes and her fingers creep over to slip into sohee's palm. shyly, sunmi fits her head into the space above sohee's collar bones. and sohee's cheek leans into the crown of sunmi's head.
"so we're going on a trip, eh?" asks sohee without much interest. she wonders what her voice sounds like rumbling next to sunmi's ear.
"yeah, together" replies sunmi, lifting her head to softly press a single kiss to sohee's bare shoulder.
the spot tingles for sohee and she interlaces her fingers with sunmi's, palms flat together and fitting.
"together" sohee echos and she wonders why she's never noticed such a beautiful word before.
