Untitled -- A Brian/Howie Longfic : Chapter One

Aug 02, 2006 10:52

lilkaos128 informed me that, after reading Always,
she wanted to read the back story, i.e., how Brian and Howie got together. Considering
the fact I had been pushing several plots around in my head for just that story,
I decided to start it. *grin* So, here is Chapter One. Story is still untitled,
if anyone can think of a good title, I would greatly appreciate it. :)

Untitled

Chapter One

Pairing : Brian/Howie, AJ/Kevin ('cause I can never get away from AJ, for some
reason)

Rating : NC-17

Warnings : Language, touching, kissing, etc. (and some more to come)

Disclaimer : Only the depraved ideas of a warped mind. Er, I mean, it's fiction.
Fake, y'know? But as soon as I find out it's really happened, I'll be sure and
tell you.

Inspiration : I cannot pretend / That we can still be friends / Don't wanna
be alone tonight… How Did I Fall In Love With You ~ BSB ('cause, damnit,
it fits the plot in my head and everyone should know by now that lyrics inspire
me)

Summary : What happens when 'Just one night' isn't enough?

Author's Note : Call me a horrible fan, but, in this story, AJ's not a recovering
alcoholic. Nor does he have a drinking problem. I fought myself over this decision,
but, really, it works better for me to write it this way. Mmkay? 'Kay.

"Why are we here again?" Howie questioned softly.

Sighing, Brian smoothed the front of his shirt. A glance at his watch told
him they were five minutes early; astounding, by his standards. Leaning on the
doorbell once again, he smirked when he heard the muffled thump of feet on the
stairs. "We're here to celebrate Kevin's anniversary," he explained.

"Which one, though?" Howie murmured, glancing down at the bouquet
of flowers that Brian had insisted they stop to buy. Wrinkling his nose when
he saw that one pink rose was starting to wilt in the heat of the August afternoon,
he reached to adjust it so its better side was showing. When Brian had come
out of the florist clutching the large arrangement, his first thought was that
they had been for him.

"Have you been living under a rock for the past five years? Or have you
just chosen to ignore the fact that--Hey, 'cuz!" Brian greeted Kevin with
a grin as the door opened. Kevin, grinning, enveloped the younger man in a big
hug before pulling him into the house, from which came the delectable smells
of a gourmet meal.

"Y'all are early, you know," Kevin informed them as he looped an
arm around Howie's shoulders in a tight squeeze. Ushering him inside, he kicked
the door shut, chuckling when he saw the flowers. "Really, Howie, I'm touched.
But I'm a taken man now--"

"Snuffles, who is it?" AJ's voice interrupted from the kitchen.

Kevin's grin grew wider as he motioned for Brian and Howie to go into the kitchen.
"Bri and D, Muffin," he cooed.

"Snuffles," Brian repeated with a snort of laughter as he placed
the bottle of wine on the counter. "My God…"

"Like Muffin's any better," Howie muttered as Kevin took the flowers
to put them in water. "Sounds like they were drunk or high when they came
up with those nicknames."

"Hey, hey, hey!" AJ exclaimed with a scowl as he added the finishing
touches to the strawberry trifle. "I happen to like
being called Muffin," he told them, allowing his bottom lip to poke out
before he turned to put the dessert in the fridge. Wiping his fingers on a dish
towel, he hopped onto a stool at the island, raising his eyebrows when he saw
the wine.

"How in the world…" Howie trailed thoughtfully as he took the
stool next to AJ. Despite Brian's claims, he was very aware that today marked
the five year anniversary of Kevin and AJ's relationship. Especially when he
considered the fact that Brian had been a factor in bringing them together in
the first place. Brian… Bringing the bowl of whipped cream closer, he
dipped his finger inside for a taste. Next to him, AJ examined the label carefully.
"…Not good?"

"No, it's perfect," AJ assured him with a nod, handing the wine to
Kevin. "And I thought I told you how I got my nickname… No?"
Seeing Howie shake his head, he grinned, propping one elbow on the counter.
"Well, it was about three weeks after we moved in together…"

As AJ spoke, his dark eyes grew vague, obviously remembering in vivid detail
the day he spoke of. Listening, Howie nodded at appropriate times, glancing
over to see that Kevin, too, had a small smile of remembrance on his face. The
lovers shared a look, a pang of jealousy hitting Howie in the chest suddenly.
He wanted that. The love, the affection, the memories of happy, peaceful, private
moments. Not with either Kevin or AJ, however. He wanted the hand holding, the
gentle touch of lips to cheek in passing, murmured words of endearment spoken
low in his ear. Someone to be his.

On the opposite side of the island, Brian idly tossed salad ingredients together,
shaking his head with amusement when Kevin interjected AJ's ramblings with his
own memory. They had always been thus, finishing each other's thoughts with
a shared smile. It seemed they had always been together, much longer than five
years, though Brian supposed their intimacy and familiarity had much to do with
the fact they had known each other for so long. Lifting his head at a sudden
lull in the conversation, he saw the men were sharing a gentle kiss, and looked
towards Howie. He spied a small streak of cream gracing the corner of the older
man's mouth. Immediately Howie's tongue darted out to taste the dollop on his
finger, sending a quick thrill down Brian's spine.

"Jesus, Bri, just kiss him already," Kevin drawled, lazily raking
a hand through his hair before reaching for the salad.

"What?" Brian squeaked, clearing his throat as he pressed his body
against the island. Hoping no one would notice his blatant arousal as AJ and
Kevin moved to get the food to the table.

"I'll be back in a minute," Howie announced softly.

Brian watched him go, gulping nervously when AJ clapped him on the shoulder.
"I can't just kiss him," he grumbled as he was turned towards the
dining room. "I'm not like you, 'cuz."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Kevin questioned as he began pouring
the wine.

"You know… Like… Well, like you. I can't
just throw him against a wall and hump his leg," Brian explained as he
dropped into an empty chair.

"I never humped AJ's leg--"

"You know what I mean. You knew what you wanted and went after it--"

"More
like he hunted me down," AJ interrupted with a wicked grin. Seeing Brian's
scowl, he shrugged innocently. "But I know what you mean, Rok. 'Sides,
you're one of those old-fashioned romantics, I can't see you just whipping it
out and telling him to suck it--"

"God, Aje," Brian groaned, slapping a hand over his face in hopes
of shielding his embarrassment. "Can we please change the subject now?

Laughing, AJ claimed his seat as Howie entered the dining room. "Hey,
D, guess--"

"Tell me what it's like, being together for five years," Brian interrupted
as Howie took the seat opposite him. Giving his cousin a pleading look, Brian
reached for his glass of wine. "You know, some things you used to do that
you've realized you really can't do anymore--I'm not talking sexual…

"Well…" Kevin glanced across the table at AJ, who was serving
up the salad. His eyes softened immediately, as they always did when he was
pondering his relationship with the younger man. "I'm just in awe of him,
Bri. No matter what he's doing…" AJ nodded seriously, his eyes meeting
Kevin's for a moment as they shared a secret smile. Taking the salad offered,
he turned his attention to Brian. "And there's times when… Well,
like when he's mowing the yard… I tear up…"

"I love you, baby," AJ crooned dramatically. "But, shit, one
thing we can't do is play board games anymore. Remember that night we played
Scrabble?"

"God," Kevin snorted, shuddering at the memory. "I had my fucking
lawyer on the phone…"

------

The wine had been finished before dinner. It was Brian's request to switch
to something harder as they all moved into the living room, and, unwittingly,
he had more than he usually allowed himself. Sprawled on the couch, his head
in Howie's lap, he regaled them all with the story of how he had lost his virginity.
Ignoring the howls of laughter from AJ and Kevin, Brian shifted his head, smirking
up at Howie when he felt the hardness pressing against his cheek. The hours
since dinner had been filled with hesitant touches from each other, bringing
each to an intense state of arousal.

Brian had not expected Howie's hand to slip inside his jeans as Kevin and AJ
began to kiss on the other. Had not anticipated the rush of desire that had
coursed through him from Howie's slightly drunken ministrations. Nor had he
expected to come so quickly, his scream muffled against Howie's tongue as they
writhed. Still floating from his high, he shifted again, nuzzling the older
man's crotch. "That for me?"

Sucking in a deep breath, Howie willed himself not to tremble when Brian's
hand reached to tug his shirt from the confines of his waistband. Warm fingers
stroked the skin just beneath his navel, eliciting a soft moan as he gripped
the glass in his hand. Quickly downing the stimulating liquor, he nearly choked
when the fingers swept lower, fumbling with his belt buckle.

"D… Gimme some help," Brian mumbled, gracelessly rolling off
the couch with a groan. Pulling himself to his knees, he moved between Howie's
legs, reaching once again for the belt buckle. Lifting his head, his eyes met
chocolate, a gentle hand covering his. Working for only a second, until he heard
the zipper go down, felt Howie's hand guide his lower. Licking his lips, Brian
closed his fingers around the hardness. Knowing that, under normal circumstances
he would have never gone this far, he dipped his head, his tongue flicking away
the bead of moisture at the very tip. "Want me to take care of this?"

"Fuck… Yes," Howie hissed between his teeth, letting his empty
glass roll to the floor before gripping the arm of the sofa. His pulse pounded
in his ears, and he was vaguely aware of his own soft whimper of pleasure as
Brian's tongue trailed his length.

Losing himself in the feel, the taste, Brian's throat made a soft mewling noise
when Howie's hand slid up his arm to rest on his shoulder. Closing his eyes,
he tilted his head, allowing his mouth to take him in. His hands moved to press
Howie down against the couch, suckling gently as he felt Howie's tremble.

"Brian--" Howie gasped harshly, letting his head fall back as the
wave of desire threatened to overtake him. It had been so long--too long--since
he had received anything remotely sexual from anyone but himself. Brian was
perfection, fingers gently caressing as his mouth quickly brought him to the
brink, only to slow down, drawing out the anticipation. The gentle touches throughout
the evening had already raised his need, and he was certain that-- "Fuck…"

Moaning, Brian lifted his head, licking the tangy flavor from his lips before
dropping his forehead to rest on Howie's damp stomach. Head swimming in a jumble
of arousal and post-orgasmic serenity, he barely noticed Howie pulling him up
onto the couch. Feeling the lean body next to his, he released a soft gasp,
the words forming on his tongue disappearing when Howie's lips met his.

"Come home with me," he whispered hopefully, tangling his fingers
in the dark curls. "Please--Just for the night--"

"Brian--" Shaky hands swept down his chest, grasping his hips and
pulling him closer.

"Just one night--"

"Yes."
