I just ordered ma ticket for Z Trip at Axis which is a double bill with the Black Sheep :-D the ticket was 15, but the fees were nuts, almost pushing it to $25 total...that's quite a mark up.
In other news I am in school for the first official day ^_^ - art history for 30 minutes (the "get to know you, now go get the book and do some reading" class) and then nothin else... nice open day to ease into this "going to classes" thing. Since I moved, I am still kinda living out of boxes, though the basics are set up, I still don't have the interweb and all my art supplies are still packed. H and I had to get all kinds of cheapo furniture since the kitchen didn't have any counters in it (rent was OK and the location is darn good). She has allowed my to take over an area for working, but my ridiculously large pile of crap is too big for it, and I have to sell off or give away a decent sized chunk. I will be craigslisting some stuff soon.
It looks like I have almost all studio classes this semester, since I transfered in a chunk of credits that apply to some of the Lib Art requirements. They start us in a freshman department, so I don't get studio space until next year, but I did get a locker, so hopefully I can keep some crap here.
It's an urban campus, so while it's busy, I am only a few blocks from the art museums, I get in free at those, and a few blocks from fenway, landsdowne street, and large amounts of stores. I also am liking this "go to school in an area I know" thing since I have almost no problem getting around and knowing which bus routes go where. It's nice to not have to worry too, too much about that. It's also nice to have all these resources at my finger tips and actually 1) have a use for them, 2) be around people who also use them, 3) be around people who give a crap. My old job was outside the city and staffed with people who were decidedly non-city, non-design oriented (as dictated by the company's focus.) For me, it was becoming an increasingly ill fit, and I think I found a decent way out, without burning too many bridges (i hope ^_~). After all, I might not have liked the job too much anymore, but one always needs contacts for recommendations and business links.
