Back to square one with free movie passes and a murderous streak.

Allow me to explain for all ::counts in the air for a moment:: 1.5 of you who seem to actually read the words I type.

I was offered a grooming job at PetsMart. Tuesday I got to try it out and life was good and full of promise. Wednesday they told me that they had "hired someone off the street who had grooming experience" and that they would "think of me first when[/if] there is another opening". And life was back to where it was: a promise for more hours and a broken heart.

Good news: a dog bit my finger today when I tried to give him a biscuit. It still hurts some. And I told one pet parent, as we call them, (ie someone who loves there pet but has no idea what they're doing. If they know something then they're either a breeder, a vet, a trainer, or very intelligent0 who told me that his cat had scabs and looked like it was losing fur that it possibly had mange and directed him to the vet, also telling him to look into advantage. He came back and, with the manager present, told me that I had been a big help. Then, two other people came up with a metal "training collar" (simialr to a choke chain but with prongs that dig into the dog's neck, with to me looks rather painful) and I told them about gentle leaders, explaining how they worked. They listened to me and returned with one, deciding it seemed far less creul for their dog.

So brownie points for me.

Yesterday I had a sticker on my car. Apparently the cops could care less that my tag is out of date by 3 months, but the towing company that checks out the area from time to time do. So I had to call 411 and ask for the number only to get a busy signal. I'm going to the DMV here tomorrow (since I have to go to the other side of town anyway) and asking them what I should do and if they can contact the DMV in FL so I can get a new tag as my mother lost the one she had bought for me.

Long story.

Then I called the school and FINALLY got to talk to a person. They transfered me to Stephen Lancaster and I got his answering machine, but no answer from him. And since the (insert explicitive(s) here) in registration seem to have closed for the season as it were, I don't know what to do. It looks like I can't go to classes till the summer session at best. And then MAYBE I'll get to go to UNCC in the fall.

Tonight, I spent thrity dollars to go see Big Fish (good movie). Why? Because I thought it was $6/person, but they wouldn't give us the student price. Then we discover that the first half of the film the theatre had was flawed (the manager told us that he knew and had ordered another copy but they didn't want to take it out of the theatre) Anyway, David and I confronted him about how CPCC doesn't *require* you to get a student ID and brought up how unjust it was until he gave us free movie passes. Now we can go see LotRRotK (that looks kinda weird. FYI for those who don't know: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King) for free. Not a bad deal since the only reason we didn't see it tonight was my manager wouldn't let me go early like everyone else. No, I had to wait on the one asshole who was still trying to pick out a squeaky toy when it was obvious that the store was closed (and had been for five bloody minutes).

And now we have come full circle.

I'm working on character sketches for my story. Melissa's helping me by designing the outfits, which makes it easier for me to visualize.

Oh, and for all you who want to know more about Tolkien's elves (like Legolas, Elrond and Arwen), check this out ^_^
