Come one, come all, to Midnight this Saturday, where DJs Cheetahdave, JavieR, and Gleek are spinning, Silver Dragon Studio is vending, and you'll find super drink deals and extra giveaways...
IN THE DJ BOOTH
If you're in the mood to dance this Saturday evening, Midnight's your obvious destination. Three of our always request-friendly residents have signed on, and they'll be playing some of the best gothic, synthpop, EBM, and industrial tunes around:
* Cheetahdave is also a member of the much acclaimed local industrial act, XUBERX (www.myspace.com/xuberxnoise).
* JavieR (www.geocities.com/cinis99/djinfo) is a former star of the Boston scene.
* Gleek was a resident for the '80s Night at The Blue Iguana, and he's known for sets ranging from '80s new wave to new industrial tunes.
SILVER DRAGON STUDIO WILL VEND
Over in the vendors corner you'll find Silver Dragon Studio (www.silverdragonstudio.net), which specializes in finely made and reasonably priced jewelry and collectibles. Bring a few extra bucks and hit its tables early for the best bargains!
THIS WEEK'S DRINK DEALS
Last Saturday's drink specials are again in place for the 13th. From 9:00 to 10:00 the bar staff will be pouring two-for-one beverages. Then, from 11:00 until last call, you can save by ordering any of the following (all prices are + tax): Bud Lights, $2.50; all Coronas and rail drinks (think generics, i.e., gin & tonic) for $4.00; and Captain and Cokes for $5.00. Or just ask the bartender for the specialty of the house, their "black death shooters," always $2.00.
OF COURSE THERE'S MORE...
* EXTRA GIVEAWAYS -- Fill out one of our drawing slips (they're on the literature table) and drop it into the cauldron this Saturday. You could go home with a new CD from Red This Ever, Reaver, Third Realm, or Espermachine, or win a $10.00 certificate good for free food. In addition, thanks to their donation by one of our guests, we'll have a dozen new gothic lipsticks to give away. If you'd like one, track down Scott when you arrive.
* FREE CAKE & OTHER MUNCHIES -- The Meeting Place serves some very tasty food on Saturdays until 1:00 a.m. Check with your bartender for a menu. And dessert's on Midnight, since there'll be free cake around the same time (12:10) as the drawing, in honor of the b'days of Viva, Liz, Marcus, Tiffany, Heather, Dan, Nicole, Nathan, and Tisha.
* ADMISSION DISCOUNTS -- The Midnight cover is just $5.00, but there are ways to get in for free or less. Our first twelve guests each week pay nothing. Nor does the winner of our "Question of the Week" contest, posted on Thursday evenings on the LJ (www.livejournal.com/community/dcmidnight). And if you have a 2009 high school (must be 18) or college (includes faculty, staff) ID, show it at our cash table for a $2.00 discount.
Currently in its seventh year of operation, Midnight is D.C.'s largest and longest-running gothic/industrial event, with a friendly and diverse crowd. Hope you can join us this Saturday!
