The hubby has been waiting for enough length to dread, finally took care of it on Monday:

I met Jackie at GMX (a geek convention), she was one of the authors there. She really wanted dreads, and said all of the things I said about my hair before I decided to dread. She's very happy with the results, and I look forward to updates from her.

I really liked to play in his long curly hair, but he kept asking for dreads, and I finally gave in. I did this over the course of two days- severe backcombing, spiral rolling with aloe gel, and then the Russian technique of pulling from the inside of the dread with a tiny crochet hook.
