I rang the Dick Smith shop on Monday morning and explained that the router was not the correct technology for my Mac. This time I evidently got someone who knew what he was talking about, because he said what I need is Airport Express, and has arranged for one to be sent from another of their stores. Les had to call the plumber back again, as water was still trickling. The plumber had already put in an urgent request to council for them to replace the stop cock on the street frontage.
