I had a quiet weekend as I was totally wiped out. I keep telling myself that spring will be here soon, and this evening I glanced out the kitchen window and noticed that a large deciduous tree on the other side of the wall has leaves on it, which proves my point. I'm not enjoying winter much, and some warmer weather will be nice.

I have to catch up on cleaning today, and then tomorrow the clothesline will be installed. I am so looking forward to that. I will also try to plant the last 2 roses, having bought some more a few days ago. One a David Austin, deep red, named the Dark Wife, the other Eglantine.

My neighbour Audrey came over on Friday with a rose cutting for me. She had been passing when a rose was being pruned and asked for cuttings. I hope this one takes; I have been admiring it for a long time as the flower is spectacular - deep gold with red stripes. The cutting has leaf buds starting to swell, so here's hoping.

While I was in town on Friday I went back to Miller's for another look and found another pair of track pants in mauve, not my preferred colour by any means, but I managed to also find a cotton top in white with grey and mauve stripes which I can wear with my grey pants as well. I can now toss out some of my oldest clothes which are in rags, almost. I've had them since I moved to Hobart in 1991, so I certainly had my money's worth from them. While we have been living in difficult circumstances in this house it really didn't matter too much.

I don't think I have posted these 2 sunset shots before, but the colours are very springlike.
