How about a quickie update before I have to buckle down and write this history paper?
I'm in McHenry right now, up on the third floor, with a nice view of - what else? - some redwoods which sway slightly, hypnotizing. The natural beauty on this campus never ceases to amaze me. There is a tiny earring with a diamond-like gem sitting on the little ledge in front of me. The wood on the walls, possibly faux, looks like sedimentary layers, uber-modern and a nice juxtaposition from the still-living trees in the window.
I've been biking everywhere! I just replaced the back tire on my Peugeot when I found this weird flap of rubber hanging off, good idea, ya think? Everything else on my bicycle is perfectly perfect. I adore it, and we are best friends.
Well, it's probably time to get started on my paper, which examines the role of lustmord (roughly translated as 'sex crimes', but more like 'lust-murder') in a couple of German films from the 1920's. These are the kinds of classes I get myself into...
