*mutters*

Lindy Hop is really difficult. Annoyingly so. Firstly, it's one of the only dances I've learned that is ALWAYS on beat in the basic stages.
Getting the eight count down is tough. And to top it all off, once your feet seem to know what they're doing you got to remind your upper body to do its share to.

THREE lessons later and I've just barely got the basic (and a couple Charleston patterns) down. It's going infuriatingly slow.
I think it's the triple steps that are tripping me up each time (mostly since it feels as though you're stepping way too many times in 8 counts, so my brain wants to skip the last triple step).

In better news, I learned some more cool East Coast tricks that are both really fun and really cool-looking! Yay!

Also, salsa is going well. I can't remember who told me that salsa was easier than swing, but they're right. I'm picking it up a lot faster. It would help if my partner in that class wasn't so abusive last week (i.e., a cross body lead just doesn't work if you ignore the "stop" signal and just plow through your partner), but she wasn't feeling well, so I can't be too harsh.
