it's like you're homesick for a place that doesn't even exist

it occurred to me tonight that i was never really homesick last year, and i'm not really homesick now, but i miss my family a rediculous amount. i talked to my mom on the phone tonight and i just really miss her. and i miss my dad and the left-over cold pizza we would eat before michigan football games at home, and the double-decker grilled cheese sandwiches that i used to make for the two of us before lions games on sundays... i miss fighting with lu about the car and clothes and whose turn it was to clean the bathroom. i miss being asked a million times to jump on the tramp with amanda and to help her practice pitching. i miss teriyaki chicken and company potatoes and 2% milk. i miss walking my dog down the trail and watching him chase birds and squirrels.

i don't miss my house, just everything that goes with it.
