ohhhhhhhh man, just got back from orientation at tech. first time visitin the campus and i must say i love it. the gothic architecture is amazing, i love the look. ok, before i write about my time there i have to get this out: the rumor is true, there are tons of hott girls at tech, jesus f'ing christ. even while just walkin around campus lookin around at the buildings you see hot girls just walkin to class or something. a lot of the group leaders at orientation were hott and there were 4 hott girls in my group so i was obviously happy. i'll stop there cause i probably sound like a pervert but its def a change from OL. so orientation: the drive was hella hella hella insanely long. it took 5 hrs but it would take longer if we had to drive during the day. left my house at 4 AM and i had to drive all the way there cause my dad is biatch. a lot of the sessions were kinda pointless - just tellin you to go to class, alcohol jank, whatever else i didnt listen to. my group was really cool, made a couple of friends. there really wasnt any diversity at tech though, at least less than i thought there would be. i saw about 5 black people total from like hundreds. im assuming there will be more when school starts and when i see athletes... ahem. i also only saw about 4 asians. i actually saw like 12 but im goin to assume i just saw the same ones over again which is probably true - you know, since they all look the same. in my group everyone was white (and hott, the girls i mean) and i was the only asian. no blacks - the way josh likes it. oh and at the end of the hokie hi chant everyone does the turkey noise and the whole time i wish i had josh there to make his, that would've been so funny. a lot of people have really southern country accents too, comin from small towns all around VA. food was good there, as expected. the skits at the end of the day were kinda lame and sca-esque but some parts were really funny. they worked in will farrell from SNL where he was the cheerleader "so check me out" and harry kerry and a little bit from anchorman. and at the end of the day my roommate was pretty cool. he's a spanish major (wtf??) and says he might go into bein a translator or somethin - coming from a pasty white southern boy. he was also drum major at his school but isnt doin marchin band in college. def not as into it as mere and cory. on the 2nd day we got to make our schedule. mine isnt too bad but the classes suck: chem, chem lab, bio, bio lab, math (multivariable), and contemporary physics. my first class is at 10 on m, w, f, 8 on t, and 12 on r. i have no idea why im takin contemp phys, i had to pick a class to fill in spots and the only interesting classes were that and the history of architecture but that class was during chem and was at 9 in the mornin so yeah. it seems kinda cool, it talks about quantum phys and relativity and stuff like that in the modern world, but i feel im goin to die taking it. essentially it was physics or intro to women's studies based on my schedule; obviously, i made the right decision. met a girl with the same major as me and yes she's hott, she already wants to study together and stuff (yay!) so thats cool. overall after orientation im now stoked about tech and am glad im goin there. still some resentment with uva but im happy with the way things worked out. i visited uva on the way back home just cause i wanted to see the campus and it was nice except i didnt get to see much, i literally just walked around and just looked at the buildings. and from what i saw there were a ton of minorities, esp blacks, walkin around campus - def didnt expect that but im sure its different when school actually starts. i liked tech's campus better though b/c i liked the separation of campus and city, its just a cool environment. and i cant wait for football games even though tech will probably suck this year. im now excited about tech and well... the girls.
