Rain

I discovered to what-should-have-been-my-surprise-but-wasn't just a little while ago that I don't believe in the 'one true love' concept anymore. And love isn't something that 'happens'. It's a decision you make. I very certainly begin to feel that's true. Maybe it's in an effort to deny our prejudices or to hide the fact that we have biased preferences, or maybe something that isn't as negative as these sound, but it all boils down to what I believe is the fact that we make the choice. Maybe we don't know thoroughly all the factors that govern that choice - perhaps we aren't concious of all of them. But to a very large degree, if one is very honest, it is certainly possible to figure out why you would love a given somebody. Or would't.

Anyway.
The First Rain.
The first rain, a little uncertain, a baby drizzle that seems like a downpour relieving a blazing hot summer. The first rain that lasts all day, which begins with a sultry atmosphere that does nothing to help cope with the oppressive heat, continuing with the actual fits of precipitation, concluding with an evening as humid, but perhaps a little relievingly cooler and completely devoid of breeze.
Walking home on that evening - it's smelly. Garbage that had been well on its way to being bleached sterile by the sun finds itself suddenly given a new lease of life by the water that seeps slowly into everything in sight, the rain that brings down the city dust and smoke soaks into caked piles that line the street, wash the dirt (and other things) off the walls and forms stinking rivulets on pavements that run into the drains. City receives a scrubbing.

The Second rain comes at night. On the night when you are blissfully asleep, finally, after nights of tossing and turning in the summer heat that is relieved by the First rain.
The second rain comes quietly, and cools the land. Being city - there is still garbage to be washed out, and new garbage that stinks to glory is still dumped, though thankfully not as much all over the place as before.
Second rain puddles are muddy, not grimy. The second Day of rain dawns cloudy and stays cloudy, and boy does it feel good to go get soaked :D

The Third shower comes like the second - in the night. And day 3 is not just cloudy, but cool. Thankfully :D

So today, on the Third day, I think i shall take advantage of the conducive weather and go shopping. Being saturday it's holiday from lab too. Tomorrow I'll have to go back to work.. not to mention get up early morning to do it ;)

bye.

love, rain
