NEW Kent!

More than half a year ago, Swedish Indie Pop-Rockers Kent announced that a new album is in the making and shall be released in autumn 07. Well, they keep their announcement: the new single "Ingenting" ("Nothing") will be released September 17 and the new album with the title "Tillbaka Till Samtiden" ("Back To Our Time") will follow October 19 - even in Germany!

Album cover:

Btw, some weeks ago a Danish magazine did a report about the recording of the new album in the studio in the US, and according to them the album is good while dancing, the songs sounded like "bright and dancable meatballs".
Just like lead singer Joakim once said about the new songs:
"We don't care at all if the songs will be able to do live this time. It's so limited.
If we want to use a Japanese chainsaw choir we'll do that.
This record will NOT sound like some idiots from Tuna in some fucking rehearsal room - It will sound like some idiots from Tuna who have gone bananas.
Totally."

I got to know the band in late 2004 by a former Swedish aquaintance.
Kent, well, Kent is just THE Swedisch band when speaking of the best music group from there. Not The Hives or Mando Diao, or Roxette ;).
The group exists since 1995 (I think), their albums naturally reach top positions in their homeland and are followed by sold out tours.
For luck they already decided to make experiences abroad by releasing two of their albums also in English; Recommendation here is the album "Hagnesta Hill" which includes one of my all time fave songs with "Stop Me June (Little Ego)" (read my review of it here). The songs lose a little bit of its passion when translated to English tho. But...still so great!
Their style is a mix of Brit Pop, Radiohead and much (also hidden) melancholy, the songs always have great melodies - they rock, they feel you, AND they have something to sing about! The lyrics are one of a kind - still - because the original lyrics are even deeper and more sensuous.
And I'm proud to say it, I flew to Stockholm just to see them live back in 2005.
