An open letter
Dear Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki,
Congratulations on making the 100th episode of Supernatural! You've survived so long, and haven't killed each other yet. That's amazing.
Congratulations on both of your engagements. Timing issues aside (for Jared and Gen, really, but we are just concerned, not unhappy! And besides, you don't need our blessings or permission - it's not our business), the majority of the fans are delighted for you, and wish you all the best! Just ignore the delusional ones who are issuing death threats to your other half.
Thank you for showing that you do care about the fans when you made the video, personally telling us to be careful and stay safe and not to get duped by online predators. Even though you guys must have said a million times during conventions and interviews that you don't have any FB or Twitter or MySpace, etc. Were you exasperated with us? Was that the right move? Maybe. Maybe not. Who cares. Damned if you do, damned if you don't anyway.
A suggestion though: Perhaps you should be more careful as to what/which pics are posted online. As you know, we are really rabid, and any whiff of a new pic will send the hounds tracking the scent until we get it. And normally the private ones are the most tempting. So, i'd say, remove the temptation as much as you can, if you can. For both our sakes.
