Title: I Can See What You Can't See
Chapter: 2/?
Rating: Various but no R
Pairing: still contemplating
Genre: Supernatural/Adventure?
Henry opened his eyes. He was panting hard, cold seeping to his body, fear was running through his blood and he was afraid, too afraid to move. Faintly he could hear the ticking sound of the clock. Closing his eyes again for a moment, he prepared himself….and forced his body to sit up.
The first thing to see was a large teddy bear with pink bow.
He looked around slowly and his eyes found a wardrobe, a window closed with curtain, mountains of books, a desk also filled with books, and finally….Jinki sleeping next to him.
Jinki.
Henry never felt so glad to see his friend’s sleeping face in his whole life.
Soon the memory of what he had seen came again and he trembled again. He quickly moved to Jinki and shake his friend awake.
“Mhmmm…what is it, Henny…I’m sleepy…”
“Jinki….” Henry gulped and clutched his friend’s blanket harder “Can I sleep with you?”
Jinki now wide awake and stared at his friend as if he has grown a pair of rabbit ears. Then he was grinning and teased him about “Jinki’s hamster is a chicken~”…..and stopped as soon as he saw the fear inside the glassy eyes of the so called hamster.
“Jinki….please…p-please!!!” Henry whispered, almost choked in his tears. He did not want to cry but one tear finally rolled down on his cheek.
Jinki nodded and lifted his blanket, embraced his friend tightly once Henry settled in and hummed a tune to calm him down. Deep down he was afraid of what had happened. Henry was a shy and rather insecure boy but Jinki hoped he was bold enough to tell him what had bothered him.
The very next day, Henry and Jinki walked to the SM building together. Unlike the usual, the journey was quiet and Jinki started to feel uncomfortable. He wanted to ask Henry but he was afraid the boy will cry again. Henry, on the other hand, was trying his best to act nonchalant. Jinki’s stares did not escape his notice and he felt guilty for making his best friend worried over him. The problem is Henry did not think it was a wise act to tell his best friend….not now anyway. He had called his parents earlier and as expected, they were afraid of his safety.
“Henli…”
He turned to face his best friend. Jinki was smiling as usual but he could not hide the emotions in his eyes.
“If you’re hungry, just tell me. I’ll show you some good eateries I know”
If you need someone to talk to, to ask for help, if you need something to distract you, I am here for you
“….will it suit my taste? I’m still trying to get used to the foods here”
Will you be able to soothe my pain? I barely can understand you at times….
“Let’s just give them a try. You’re a food-lover, I’m sure you’ll like them”
Just let me try, I’m sure I can help you somehow, somewhat
“That sounds nice. When and where?”
Okay, I’ll try. Do I have to….?
“Whenever you want and whenever I can?”
Whenever you feel you’re ready. Don’t rush it
“I’ll see this week’s schedule then”
Thank you. I’ll try….
“Okay then”
Anytime, my friend, anytime….
Tiffany and Kibum were busy chatting (gossiping as Jonghyun called it) with Minho watching them from the side when Henry and Jinki came back from lunch. Kibum looked up and his eyes turned foggy for a moment. No one saw it.
Tiffany then left to the toilet and Kibum has free range to watch Henry nodded and smiled to Taemin. He saw how Jinki watched Henry like a hawk with an unreadable expression, even when Henry has moved and have a dance battle with Taemin and Hyoyeon. He saw how happy Hyoyeon was when Henry accepted the dance battle challenge she had bestowed upon the Canadian (“YOU REALLY WANT TO?! Thank God!!! Finally a guy wants to have a dance battle with me!!!”). He saw how Henry laughed a little bit late because Jessica has to translate first what Hyoyeon just said to him.
On top of it all, he saw how Jinki almost never let Henry go of his eyes.
Kibum did not understand why he did not like the fact.
Taeyeon and Minho, on the other hand, knew very well what was went wrong with their friend…..and agreed to let it go for now.
Henry was cheered up a bit after today’s training was over. He always felt better after dancing and playing his beloved violin, and he really has to thank Taemin and Hyoyeon for the dance battle. It was fun!!! There was one more thing in his mind though: the day after’s Korean test.
Sighing, he was automatically looking around for Jinki. Henry, being a smart boy he always was, realized he was depending too much on the boy but it was not easy to trust someone new. Jinki was his first friend when he just started his trainee days, a smart boy that was hard-working both in training and school. Definitely Henry’s best type of friend. Call him nerd or whatever, Henry did not appreciate people who slacked off duties for entertaining. Lee Jinki was none of that.
Tiffany joked to him just today, that Henry and Jinki were officially married. Of course Henry has retorted back that Tiffany said that because she was desperate to get laid. Once again, they were fighting (not seriously, just mocking each other) in english, with the other trainees who understand english gaped at them and baffled by what Henry had said. Both Henry and Tiffany were not raised in Asia so it was understandable they were quite blunt to point things out like “private activities”…..but still, both of them got an earful from Taeyeon and Jinki, mainly because there were a lot of younger trainees (by this time, Minho was closing Taemin’s ears with his hands).
Henry shaked his head and off to search for Jinki. When he was passing by the janitor’s closet, he saw an ahjussi who he often met there and greeted him. The man smiled at him and nodded. About 30 seconds after, Henry heard a familiar tune of Super Junior’s Tic Toc. He giggled when he realized it was the ahjussi’s mobile ringtone.
When it reached Kyuhyun’s part, his vision got dark.
He barely make it through….we can’t say he will survive.
No!!! Kyuhyun! My Kyuhyun!!
We will do our best to save him, ma’am.
Please…! Please save my son! Oh God, please..!!
Kyu…Kyuhyun-ah…please…b-be save….
We need y-you….w-we…Kyuhyunnie…!!
A middle-aged woman was crying in the arms of a man. Right by their side, there was a woman in early twenties, sobbing and a doctor trying to soothe the three.
A door opened and two familiar faces with treated bruises and bandages sobbing.
Eunhyuk and Shindong of Super Junior.
“HYUNG!!!”
Henry jolted awake when he heard the voice. He did not even realize when he was kneeling on the ground, left hand on the wall balancing his body. He did not even realize when and how or why he fell. He looked up to see Jonghyun and Minho looking at him with worried looks.
“Hyung” Minho said hesitantly “Are you alright? You….looks pale”
Forcing a smile at the younger boys, he calmly stated that he was a bit dizzy because he was hungry. Jonghyun laughed lightly, he knew Henry and Jinki have large craving for foods and that was probably the reason they were good friends. Minho, on the other hand, did not seem to buy it. Yet he let it go with a nod and helping Henry stand up.
The two boys then went out to eat with him. Inside, each boys were glad because they have a chance to know each other more.
Henry silently reminded himself to text Jinki later.
Upon seeing Minho’s glance between the bibimbap he was eating, he took a mental note to be careful around the quiet boy.
Choi Minho was one he could not read and it scared him.
