Another great night of television. Strangely, I never retain as much information from my Tuesday shows as I do from my shows on other nights. Just some quick thoughts:
Gilmore Girls:
- Chris and Lor, back together again?? SQUEE.
- The Return of April mostly seems like a lame way to give Luke a storyline.
- Gia Goodman! Crossovers are A++++
- Rory hanging up on Logan to spend time with the girls? Oh my.
Overall, this season's been choppy. The transition to Rosenthal is really noticable, in the dialogue, in the editing, in the overall mood. Not exactly liking his execution thus far, but I'm not exactly complaining either.
I'm so happy L/C are happening again. Seasons 1-4 I really wanted L/L but times have changed, the characters have changed. L/C is how it is meant to be from this point forth. Luke's going to have to deal with the hole he dug for himself.
Veronica Mars:
- Weevil!
- Umm.. Weevil is looking a bit chunky.
- So nice of Keith and the Dean to take a chance on Weevil :)
- Logan is the world's biggest jerk.
- Veronica is the world's most paranoid girlfriend.
- Why does it bother me so much that they make out in the library?
- Where is Mac??
Gosh, I just really hated Logan tonight. What's strange to me is how out of the blue his behavior was - sure, he's been that way in the past, but I can't really imagine how he'd ditch V for a dumb casino night in some guy's dorm room. It just seemed far-fetched and lame.
Also, all the feminist stuff.. getting on my nerves. I'm hoping they resolve the rape cases soon so we can hear about something else.
Boston Legal:
- Sally returns, and she's still as awkwardly unattractive as ever
- Wow Claire! What a courtroom firecracker. She's growing on me :)
- Scott Little case.. what a doozy! Super excited to see how it ends next week.
- Brad is still totally underutilized! Give him a storyline, people!
- Alan's courtroom speeches: totally amazing! Even moreso than usual!
- Poor Jerry Espinson :(
Gosh, I didn't like Lake Bell as Sally whatshername in Season 1, and I most certainly don't like the new improved Sally with dyed hair and an apparently improved butt based on all the camera shots. It was awkward then, it's still awkward now. She tries to be seductive and sexy but it really just leaves me pretty disgusted. Yuck. YUCK!
Which is the other great part about tonight's episode: "Yuck!" This week's cause was none other than (freedom of) religion/Scientology, and Alan was quite enlightening on the issue. I especially loved all the "Yuck"-ing ;)
Which leads me to more yuck: Brad hitting on Sally, Denny still involved in the silly Bethany storyline, and Sally still appearing in next week's episode! BLEH!
Also, who plays the judge in the Scott Little trial? I swear I have seen him before, but I can't place him. I know the guy who plays Judge Huber has been on a few shows too..
