Up Up and Away

My second brother, Malcolm, lives on the other side of the country, and so I see him far too infrequently (the last time was in July 2004, MUCH too long) and I seriously miss him.
He loves watching and playing all sorts of sports, and is the archetypal Aussie; very laid back and easy going with all of the good qualities and none of the bad.
He flew to London yesterday with three of his mates. They are going to the Sandown Park races tonight, and have a box in the members' area at the Lords Test starting tomorrow (that's cricket for the non Aussies and non-English-it goes for 5 days). Then they are going to the Goodwood racing carnival for (I think) 5 days, and then home. They considered going to Wimbledon, but it was too early, and they thought about the British Open golf, but St Andrews is a LONG way from London, so they settled on Goodwood, but the real object of the trip is to go to the cricket.
He has been planning this for a while, so it isn't spontaneous, but it the kind of thing that I just can't see myself ever doing. Which is sort of sad, I think. I look back on my life and there are so many things that I would like to do, but for whatever reason, I just don't do them. That's probably why my planned trip at the end of the year is such a very big deal to me; I'm actually going to fulfil a wish. I hope my brother has as good a time as I plan to have; knowing him, he will.
