what an unexpected opportunity...

I just got off the telephone. I talked to Jeff, a friend of mine from way back. We grew up in the same town, our bands occasionally played together back in the day when I played in bands, and my aunt dated his dad for like 10 years so we'd always see each other at family functions and stuff.

Jeff played as Kittie's live guitarist for a couple years, but now has his own band again, called Thine Eyes Bleed. They're pretty brutally heavy as far as the music goes, and they're real serious about getting out on the road and doing this for a living. They've got interest from a label and are probably getting signed this month or next. Tom Araya's brother Johnny is now their bass player, which is news to me.

Anyways, I get a call out of the blue from Jeff, having not heard from him in like 8 months. It took me almost 2 weeks to call him back, since I'm a forgetful asshole sometimes, and he offered me something that put my head in a spin.

They're touring North America and possibly Europe starting in November. Jeff wants me to tour with them as their main live sound engineer.

2 years ago I would have jumped on this faster than anything, but now I have this cushy job (although it keeps me far too busy) and a wonderful amazing girl that I couldn't stand to be apart from.

This seemingly amazing opportunity couldn't have possibly come at a worse time. I have this whole plan about how my career is supposed to unfold, and then this comes.

Where the fuck does this path go?
