.money for midi.

Today I am proud of a good find. I got some Christmas Money during the holidays because I asked for a MIDI controller and my parents didn't feel like figuring out what that was so they gave me some money to buy something on my own.

Today I was on Ebay and I found a Midiman Oxygen 8 MIDI Controller for substantially less money than they are new, and this one is practically new and in full working order. Needless to say I am giddy with geeky excitement at the thought of all the parameters I can control mouse-free now with my new toy. So what if it's only 25 keys? It can be switched +/- 4 octaves so it's all good. It's merely for programming anyways, I doubt I'll use it live and if I do it won't be for playing keys. It also has 8 knobs that are fully programmable for any MIDI command or parameter, also pitch bend, tremolo, and some software I've never heard of.

But the coolest part, is that the USB connection carries the power, so if I'm plugged into my computer I don't need AC or batteries. That's just too cool.

I can't wait for it to come in the mail now. I need my geeky music toys to keep me busy while I'm lonely over this next while.
