Word Coaching

After our weekly dose of Project Runway, John and I gathered longer around the cool glow of the tv and played My Word Coach on the Wii.  It's actually fairly challenging, mostly for timing.   I still need to master the controller, too.  It was fun to have a game we could both play and enjoy.  John's vocabulary is pretty extensive and he rocks Scrabble much better than I do.  Since he's not an avid reader beyond periodicals and professional journals, this surprises some people.  Not me, of course, since I married him.  I don't marry people I can't spend a lifetime conversing with.  He fits the bill very well.  All the better that some people underestimate him, since I was the fortunate one to realize he was a keeper.

Besides, if he read as much as me, well, we wouldn't have the room for all the books.  His four to five books a year doesn't take up much space.  It also means he can't do library books since they have to be returned before he finishes them usually.

I also got him the pinball game for the Wii and he really likes that one.  All of these were in the Gold Box on Friday for the Wii Games Day specials.  Cheap fun that gets him off the couch since it's best to stand for that one, just like with a real pinball game.

I've never been much of a video game player, but the Wii has gotten more usage from me than all of our previous game systems combined.  No wonder Nintendo is raking in the bucks.
