(no subject)
Did a laundry. The dryer is possessed, I swear. It never stopped. It also didn't dry that fast. I made three trips to remove things from it and after an hour and a half everything was dry, but the dryer was still going. Bizarre.
School's started. The classes I've been to so far are:
Philosophy of Space and Time. Can't really say much about this, as the professor wasn't there and sent what I assume to be a philosohpy grad student in his stead.
American Poetry to 1900. The professor seems interesting enough, but it's nothing very special so far. Ditto for the TA. I hate the introduction things where you have to say your favorite whatever and an interesting fact. Someone in our class is related to Cheney. That actually is interesting.
Comedy and Fantastical Writing. I think I'll keep taking this one, provided I, y'know, write something. I don't get along too great with creative writing classes, because I feel awful self-conscious having people read my stuff. And we have to have people read stuff aloud! Aside from the absolutely terrifying prospect of sharing this class sounds fun. It's a theater class, so we're reading some plays and I know nothing of plays, so I can get all cultured and stuff. I'm already learning that plays can make no sense whatsoever and still be art. Huh.
On Monday I'll have Americans in Paris: Literature of the Left Bank (Hemmingway, et all) and History of Ancient Syria and Mesopotamia. You know what I should really stop doing? Trying to take five classes. It never ends well. But they're going to kick me out soon! I feel like I have to take as much as possible. I might drop the second lit class, as I kinda hate Hemmingway. We'll see how that goes.
Coffee Bean has pumpkin lattes! I love the season of pumpkin lattes. I remember back when I worked at Northern Lights we'd get pumpkin ice cream and steam it with milk to make pumpkin lattes. Those were freakin' awesome. God, I stole so much food and drink from that job. I really miss it sometimes. Although I don't miss the crap pay.
I need to buy a pumpkin. Multiple pumpkins. What should I carve this year? I still have last year's in my user info because it amused me so. I wonder if I could carve a Viper (Mark II)? That would rule. I thought about that last year. There's got to be something really clever I can do... The TARDIS? Nah, too tricky.
Random video: If you've ever read Esquire you'll know they have a "10 Things You Don't Know About Women" piece done every month by a different actress. September was Jenna Fischer. Someone at The Office decided it would be hilarious if the guys on the cast and crew read it. And it is, it really is.
