Yesterday for the second day in a row I got free beer from school. This was awesome in two respects: 1. it was beer and 2. it was free beer. On Wednesday my "Theories of the Photographic" professor had a field trip to the Hammer Museum and then to Brew Co. Sadly, this is the first time I had ever stepped foot in Brew Co. I KNEW I should have applied to UCLA. I did get to be a part of it for about 2 months during my elective. But then they made me give my card back and leave the country. And there was no free beer. Life is so unfair.
And we get our attendings to buy us beer all the time. The etiquette is to smile, thank them nicely, and buy the next round (which they usually give you the money for!).

You were here at one point? When? How come? What's an elective?

And, hm, it was more one beer with dinner (the English dept paid for the food) so there really wasn't a next round...

I was there in December-January. As part of our final year we get to go and do some doctoring in any country we want. So I picked the States and LA cause it has good trauma and was about the only good trauma place I could rely on to have good weather at that time of year. So I had a wonderful month working at Harbor-UCLA ER and then an even more wonderful month of road-tripping. Drove up to the Redwood forests and then back down the PCH. Stopped in San Fran for a week and then meandered back to LA, visited the OC and San Diego. Headed out to Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon, Vegas. Best holiday I have ever had. Good times.

We might even be getting a bar! I find it incredibly humorous that our "dry campus" gives away beer at school sponsored events...

I can't believe you finagled beer from your school, you hor! That is a feat I have never accomplished and now I want a beer too! *pouty face*

It's not so much "finagled" as "surprisingly offered and accepted." They had tons of kegs at the Senior Sendoff, the kegs being what decided me on whether or not to wait in line to get in.
