What a Lovely Day

What a very busy, but fun, two last days I've had. So, let us start (by the way, I think there will be some photos involved in this post, so there will be some cuts. Big fan of photos I am. :D

Friday night, as previously stated we watched our precious nice Riley. I love having her over for the night. Mike makes it so easy on me. I think we have a great way of handling baby sitting. Mike is the more playful of the two of us, so he spends more time with her when she's awake and hyper. He also has more patience. So, they play and watch Barney together while I hang out doing pretty much my normal routine. Mike also goes to bed much much earlier than I do, so when he falls asleep and Riley is more calm and just wants to be snuggled occasionaly and her milk refilled, in comes Aunt Lyla. There's more Barney (by the way, she insists, we do not purposefully try to let Barney babysit her, actually, she tends to just watch it in passing but insists that it be on the t.v. and she's quite spoiled in that regard). and she lays down on random things until I can get her into the bed with Mike. Then, I get up with her in the night if she wakes up, and Mike gets up with her in the morning, and it repeats for as long as we have her, which isn't that long.

Saturday morning Mikes mom dropped off her car, as our vehicle is in the shop, so that we could do the errands we needed to get done this weekend. I took her car and went and did some shopping for a family picnic. It was my future in laws 20th anniversary and we planned a get together for them so that we could celebrate. I bought a cake and a new outfit for both Mike and I and a new little dress for Riley. I think Mike and I get entirely too comfortable with her as part of our little family instead of her Mom and her....we should quit doing that, it's going to ive us a complex.

The picnic was nice, but I'm extremely uncomfortable around Mike's brother and sister-in-law to be. First of all, I never know how Nick (Mike's brother) feels about me, and secondly I really can't stand his fiance. She's a real bitch and I don't enjoy how she treats Mike's Mom. One day I was over at their house and Brandy was bragging about making Terri (Mike's mom) cry! Now, I know that it's hard to handle Terri, she's one of those "The more I like you the worse I treat you" types of people, but once you get beyond that she's a lot of fun! We've spent a couple days just the two of us together and had a freakin' blast. While there are times when she makes me want to pull my hair out, I would never ever want to make this woman cry. She loves her kids, and she makes an effort to make us (the significant others) feel accepted and part of the family. I feel sometimes like her kids don't appreciate what a good mom she is, even Mike. I try very hard to go out of my way to make her feel like Mike and I love her, though a couple of times she has pointed out that we don't invite her over often. I don't know why we don't. It's just I guess I never think she'd want to come over just to hang. So, after she pointed it out twice I did invite her over for just some hang out time, and again, had a blast.

Anyway, after the picnic Mike and I came home to get ready to go to the races. His parents have season tickets at a local speedway and had rain out tickets from a weekend or two ago. They gave us three of them ::wee:: and so Mike, my dad and I went to the races for the first time ever. We had a blast. Fast cars go round in circles, and while I was convinced that there would be no wrecks, there were a few. I even got into the last couple of races, as I'd already discovered my favorites.

We didn't get back from the races until 1 in the morning, and then my mom was lonely at home, and we had decided that we were keeping my dad at our house because we live mere blocks from where he works and he had to work at 6 in the morning. So after getting dad settled on the couch I dragged my tired butt back into the car and drove down to my parents house. They live about a half hour away. I hung out with my mom and just chatted for a while and then came home in time to wake dad back up and get him off to work. I did not get to bed until 6 this morning.

Mike let me sleep until about 1 pm and then woke me up. He was watching a movie and I did some computer fun and then decided we might go swimming...but he didn't want to. Then we got into a bit of a tif because he doesn't really express the reasons he doesn't want to he just sort of I dunno how to explain it. Instead of saying that he doesn't think that it would be fun or whatever he responds with "I just don't see the point in..blah blah blah" and I admit..I get way over mad about that response. Anyway, after much talking it out, we decided to go to a local amusement park/water park. We got all ready and drove up. It was a blast!! I'm so worn out now, and my fat little legs were pretty pissed about walking up those stairs to the water slides, but it was still the most awesome time we've had in a long while. He was so sweet and loving, as usual, the entire time. We played skee-ball and paid entirely too much to win massive amounts of tickets to trade in for things we could have bought for a couple bucks at Wal-Mart. But, Riley will enjoy them when she comes over tomorrow.

Then we ate at a place called The Fox & Hound English Pub and Grill...it's a really nice place and has a wonderful feel to it, though the music that was played (Top 40) was not in congruence with the feel of the place. I really liked our waitress, a very spunky young girl, she was fun to talk to, and I feel like I may have caused her to give her other tables less attention.

After we finally got home tonight, I did my homework and turned it in. I hope I got a good grade on it. So far I have a 97.92% in the class. I think part of the reason I lose my focus in school is that while I should be extremely pleased with this grade, I still feel inadequate. I feel as if I should not have lost the 3 points on the homework I've done so far...when really that's not a lot. I can't ever tell anyone how I feel because they just make fun of me, and some people just get mad! I don't know why I feel like that's not good enough, I just do.

Okay, if you've actually stuck with me for this long post, there is a reward. Pictures!

This is not from this weekend, this is for my friend cafe_dulce  who wanted to see this pic of Mike and Riley.
