I almost added an emo-filled post the other day, but stopped myself after only a sentence, luckily. On to more cheery things, I say!
So I've begun my new job at Moozoo. I make smoothies, frozen yogourt and someday will make fresh yogourt. I love working in the business part of downtown. I think I could get some nice shots of all the high rise buildings... I'll wait for a creative streak. (On a separate note, I need to take more pictures.. I spent all that money on a digicam and should learn to use it, though it's very automatic and the only thing I can change is the exposure time) The walk home isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I haven't walked there yet, and I should because subway tokens are expensive. I keep buying food on the way home, though, which also isn't good.
Mike and I went to the CNE on Sunday, which was fun. I'd never been, so I got to see what all the fuss was about. We ate junk food all day (Caramel apple, Tiny Tom donuts) and we bought chocolate and I bought the best fudge I've ever had (choco raspberry) and we saw lots of booths selling their international products. We saw some Afro-Caribbean dancers, a man shoot himself out of a cannon (didn't Super Dave used to do that?), and a (kinda lame) mini-parade. No rides for us, as we're wusses. Does anyone actually trust those rides? People always get hurt... Good times nonetheless. Lots of noise, blinking lights, small children. We were exhausted when we collapsed on the streetcar, and we wondered how parents do it. How??
Mike and I hit up the Farmer's Market at City Hall today, and I've come home with mini cucombers, peaches and raspberries. So expensive, but hey, it's summer, I won't feel too guilty. The frozen hot chocolate from Second Cup was probably a mistake though - I only had half and it still knocked me out. Don't let me get another one once they're not 2$ on Wednesdays anymore. So much sugar... I need a nap.
The reason for the emo post that wasn't was an e-mail I got from my mom. Seems that one of my step-sisters (they currently live at my house part-time, and currently share a room) will be moving into my bedroom at home. Of course I wasn't happy with the idea that my mom would be packing up all my stuff (and there's a lot, I packed light when moving to T.O.) and shoving it into the basement to let one of the kids move in. Obviously the idea of being a guest in my own house wasn't very appealing! Especially without even asking me beforehand. Anyway, after a few e-mails she agreed to keep my stuff there, (in the dresser and closet) and just clear the surfaces so that the step-sister will just be "camping out". I know I don't go home often (but hey, I have to pay for my own bus tickets) but it's still my home.
Must go call my dad, eat some Ontario fruit and do laundry (the fro yo machine likes to spray me). And for those in T.O., don't forget about the bash happening here on Saturday. End of summer drinking will ensue.
