That's right, Ladies and Gentlemen and Boys and Girls.... I FINALLY got the package I have been waiting what seems like months to arrive!! I am very pleased with its contents too! I now have 200 yards of boning, so I think I am good for a while... don't you? Plus the beaded fringe and lace I planned on using for my ballgown is here. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beaded fringe. It is GORGEOUS!!! Here are some shots:
The silk color is fairly true (at least on my monitor). The fringe is a bit washed out because of the flash, but in person the drops look very pearly and the seed beads are irridescent (which sort of echos the color of the silk). It is purdy. :) I'm making this petal skirt:
And I was thinking about maybe putting the beaded fringe on top of the lace to trim around the petals. It would look like this:
I put one with and one without flash because the flash was washing out the details. The plan is to get the crinoline finished tonight and then I can start pleating the petticoat into the waistband. Tomorrow I can finish that and hopefully get the ballgown skirt finished too. It is pretty basic though trimming the petals might add some time. Then I will only have my ballgown bodice and a pair of drawers to finish.
