Decisions and Indecisions
I've decided to go with the hoop rather than the bustle for the May ball. And I have decided to cheat a little and use the hoop from my wedding rather than make a new one... though I do want to make a cage crinoline sometime this spring/summer. However, mine will work for this one ball. I'll need to make a petticoat to go over it and the ball gown bodice and skirt. I also still need to make my corset. The coutil fabric was back ordered and wasn't sent until last Friday. Once that arrives, I can really dig in.
I'm still going to make the bustle. The plan is to make a walking dress for the Victorian Festival in August. However, I won't rule out the possibility of doing another hoop if I become especially enamored of a design.
However, I still have not decided on a shade of silk taffeta for the ballgown. I have a couple that are calling to me and I think I know which one I am going to choose, but I am still wavering. I'll probably get opinions at tea this weekend and figure it out.
