I assume that you are hunting game birds. However, the constant BOOM every 5 to 15 minutes every day for the last 3 days is really freaking out my dogs. Do you live close to farmland/fields?

Yes, our village is surrounded by fields and farmland. We have two directly across from us which I suspect is where it is happening. I had the kitchen door open while the dogs were outside doing their business and the guns were so close I could feel the blast in my chest. And I wasn't even outside!

Unless you've actually seen people shooting - and it would probably be more than one if it was a planned shoot, what you are probably hearing is bird scarers. They sound exactly like guns - which is the point of them!!

Kentwell's land (some of which is tenanted arable farm land) has them and a few times I've jumped six foot in the air thinking someone was shooting at something when it was actually just the automatic bird scarers.

It may be worth talking to the farm/land owners and ask whether this is the case and if so, then requesting the bird scarers to be moved further away from your home.

I had no idea such a thing existed. I'll try to get myself upstairs and have a look out of the window when the shooting starts up again to see if I see people out there. I've never heard it before Monday. Thanks for the info!
