I finally got my butt in gear this weekend and got the regency day gown done. Well, "done" except for the hand finishing and fastenings. I was unsure about it all the way through the process but now that it is all together I absolutely love it. The skirt drapes SO prettily. And I made a matching reticule too. I fussed around with the wrap gown bodice mockup for a while and then just decided I didn't have time to work out the kinks. So am using the same pattern for the ballgown as I did for the day gown. I just need to get it done. Especially as I also have to make a waistcoat for David as well. Yikes! I only have 1 weekend to do all of this. Maybe I can manage some evenings this week. I'll try to get some pictures up soon.
Tomorrow (technically today as it is past midnight) I have the surgical procedure on my foot. I am a bit worried about going under anesthesia, but I'm sure it will all be fine. My ankle has gotten even worse since my MRI. Yeah.... in hindsight jumping up and down to try to get a cotillion move right was probably not the brightest idea. Anyway, it was already fuffed up so even though it is hurting worse, I doubt it made a difference in the scheme of things. I am pretty sure that the bone that they are worried about has shifted. It would certainly explain the pain I have now. So I figure they are going to have to do the full surgery anyway. My best case scenario is that the stress xray and orthroscope will help them pinpoint exactly what they need to do in that surgery. And then I hope that the cortisone shot will take care of the inflammation and lessen the pain. Guess we'll have to see. At least tomorrow I will know. And that in itself is a relief.
