Moving right along.

I've hired an attorney and a financial planner recently and it feels good to know this whole ordeal is slowly turning into something I had to deal with once, instead of something I have to deal with every day. We're still having trouble getting access to my mom's investment account, but everything else is turning out to be pretty easy. The attorney will have an affidavit drawn up for me next week that should be enough for my bank so I can cash the insurance checks. And my financial advisor is setting up all my investment accounts. I'll end up with 2 IRA's (don't ask, it's super complicated) and a mutual fund. Seriously, I never thought I'd be the girl with a mutual fund. It's sort of exciting, when you don't consider the source of the moolah.

I was supposed to meet with a second financial advisor and then pick the one who offered me the best deal. But the guy I met with today was just so DAMN CUTE I went ahead and told him to open the accounts. I'll take beauty over brains any day. Heh.

School started last night. I had forgotten how tiring it is to sit in a classroom and be smart for 4 hours on a weeknight. Seriously, so exhausting. I'm glad it's only once a week. But man, the homework! The reading assignments! I've got to get myself on a very strict schedule or I'll never keep up with it. It's EXTREMELY fast-paced. I hope I'm going to like the learning team environment. I think it's going to be sort of like being on The Apprentice, with a project leader who assigns tasks and whatnot. I guess when I have a good team it'll be good, but when I have a bad team it's going to SUCK ASS. Quite frankly, once everyone comes to terms with the fact that I AM ALWAYS IN CHARGE, it should be fine. :)

Hmm, what else? Oh, Halloween was fun. You see, in my opinion, the holiday was over after the weekend. I know technically it's today but whatev. I'm over it. Sommer, Shane and I went to Caryn's party up in Fountain Hills and had a good time. Sommer won over the crowd by being the only girl who would shot gun beer with the boys. Naturally. Caryn was more than a little tipsy when we got there and she said to me, "Sarah, you're my best friend." I said, "Aww, Caryn that's such a sweet thing to say. Thank you!" LOL. I mean, how was I supposed to respond? I do like her a lot, and we have a lot of fun hanging out. But I've already got way too many BFF's as it is... Rachel, Kylene, Kerri, Christina, Sommer. *sigh* It's exhausting keeping up with all of them. Plus, I still haven't gotten completely over my earlier reservations about Caryn. Usually my gut is always right, and time will tell.

And so that's what's been going on in my life lately.

(And OMG take in the beauty of the way I constructed that last sentence. LMFAO! I obviously needed to go back to school!)

mom, friends, school, daily
