On business, and walking the egg-shells

Feb 23, 2006 17:03

Well, no thanks to anyone who read the advertisement-of-sorts that I put up on Sunday (with the exception of Grim, whose computer isn't working and wants his tragus done, and Karis, who replied to me out of livejournal and wants some in her ears), business appears to be going very well. At the moment, all I'm doing is breaking even with any charge made - in fact, not even that; I'll actually be out of pocket by about fifty quid, even after the fifteen orders I've got, because this is about more than money. Yeah, sure, it would be nice to go into it as a business, but for now it's a passion.

So yeah, to all those people who saw it and didn't think it deserved a response, thank you. I didn't need anyone to commit to saying "Ok, stab me up, Scottie" - clearly, since I'm booked to do fifteen piercings within the next month and not one of them, bar Karis', were born of livejournal. A bit of support would have been nice. Because frankly, I sure as hell don't see anyone else setting up a business.

So thank you. Your support has been truly overwhelming.

Oh wait... No, my bad. What I've done without support has been overwhelming. I've got my gear, my training and already what's the beginning of a clientele base, all on my own back, being laughed at by people doing fuck all and being told I won't amount to anything by my family. I am developing a trade and paying for every dime of it without assistance, WHILST preparing to put myself through uni, and all I can say is that I will show you all. I will show you what this Troll accomplishes when she sets her mind to it.
