Today is a generally really crap day except for one thing:

Have I mentioned how much I love American "health care" lately? As of yesterday, I've learned that I have the following options between now and August. Informal poll as to which option I should choose:
1. Pull $550/month out of my ass to pay for my meds. And by "out of my ass," what I really mean is, "from somewhere in the universe," because unfortunately, I do not shit money.
2. Pull $250/month out of my ass to pay for my meds from an online pharmacy that would, theoretically, be selling me drugs from Canada. The problem with this is that the website could just as easily be a front for someone selling me sugar pills from Micronesia.
3. Concede defeat. Stop taking meds. Acquire severe anemia. Acquire the arthritic joints of a 70-year-old. Acquire a physique that would get me banned from the catwalk in Madrid. Acquire intestinal strictures and bleeding. Exist in a state of permanent exhaustion. With any luck, keep myself out of surgery and close out the year colostomy-free. See, if I balanced it JUST RIGHT, I could get sick enough to be prescribed prednisone, which you can get for $4/month at Walmart. Prednisone's great. It makes you look like this:

and all you ever want to do is this:
But generally it's with things like corn chips, not baby carrots.
Option 3 isn't really an option, of course.
Right now I'm thinking option 2. Canadadrugs.com appears to be legitimately accredited in Manitoba.
I spent three years living abroad and defending the US from small-minded attacks from various non-Americans. But now that I'm living here again, all these little things are adding up to make me wonder why I even bothered. The options above are my only options. Can somebody explain to me how anyone in the world can think that a state of affairs that is, in any way, just? "Option 1: come up with hundreds of dollars a month for medications. Option 2: get REALLY FUCKING SICK."
