I had a few hours of absolute pure happiness today.  I'd still be completely happy, but I am not in possession of The Office Season 4 or a tasty drink of some kind.  Also, I'm sort of crushing, and that just takes good feelings away.  And I'm way too tired for it to be just after 9pm.  But other than that, pretty damn good.

I'm sort of in love with fall.  Here in southern Arizona, we don't get see many seasons, some even claim that our fall isn't really a fall.  But, damn it, when the temperatures fall below a chilly 80, you know it's time to drag out the scarves, find a Halloween costume, and start whipping up some soup.  That's just how it works around here.  ( Read more... )

I made dinner for some friends this evening and decided to finally pull out the Paula Deen cake recipe.  Because, seriously.  If a cake is called "Is it Really Better Than Sex?" Ten days into 2008, I've:

• recovered from a champagne high
• seen two awesome movies with a friend
• had a couple drinks with a new friend
• stood up for myself and ignored the silly girl in me
  
• made new friends at work

I went to my first wedding of my adult years yesterday evening.  The last one I went to was my uncle's.  I was about seven or eight and I can remember two things- the little girl who kept trying to leave me out of everything and stole my little sister away from me and dancing to the YMCA for the very first time with my new cousin Sarah.  I'm sure ( Read more... )

Well.  I'd just like to start out by saying that getting a B on my Med-Surg final exam was not the most unusual and exciting thing to happen to be since Winter Break 007 began a mere four days ago.  While surprising and amazing, it did not do anything for my overall grade.  But, at least I can say I kicked its ass.  As for the rest of my four days ( Read more... )

And now I'm done- done with the sadness and the down and the stress.  It's changing today.  I did my thing this week- stress eating, consumption of alcohol thanks to concerned friends, complaining, bitching, moaning.  It's done.  I've got a five day weekend ahead of me and it's going to get used for what I am best at- getting it done.
