(no subject)
I saw "Rent" Thursday...
and Friday...
and spent $35 on the Original Broadway Cast Recording...
and $25 on the Motion Picture soundtrack...
and fell in love with Rosario Dawson (Mimi) twice...
and fell in love with Wilson Jermaine Heredia (Angel) at least twenty times... and pieced together my own recording of "Rent" with all the songs the movie left out and replacing Rubin-Vega with Dawson as often as I could...
and adapted "Out Tonight" to acoustic guitar in a key where I can take full advantage of "Take me ouuuuuuuut tonight"...
and had to restrain myself from going out to buy makeup...
and green stockings...
and a skirt...
and heels...
What a musical. It won't beat out "My Fair Lady" but it comes close. Very close. I was far more attracted to Angel than ever I was to Eliza. He was just... "loverly".
In other news, I have no other news and that is not good news nor news to me.
By the by, did anyone else (who has seen "Rent" and cares), pick up on a little pitch "tweaking" on Dawson's voice near the end of "Another Day". The lyric is "My only goal is just to be." Her voice on "...to be." takes on a slightly electronic tone. Am I making it up?
