Audrey Porter hated paperwork. Too many lines to fill out, too many Is to dot and Ts to cross. But, as a US Marshal, paperwork was a way of life.
Especially when someone fired their weapon.
Well, there was less paperwork for the criminals, but when a Marshall unloaded a clip into someone, there was a procedure. Sidearms were handed over, jackets got flagged and desk duty was imminent until Internal Affairs finished their investigation.
Everyone who had been on scene knew that she had followed procedure, but that didn't change things.
She had taken a life to save three.
