Well I went to get something out of the cabinet this evening and what did I find?  TONS of tiny black bugs!  Most were dead, but then I found some that were ALIVE (OMG!!!!!!) and that's when I really lost it.  I had to call my mom and have her come over, seriously.  I don't understand how we didn't notice this problem earlier.  My guess is that there were a few bugs that we didn't notice, and then they multiplied really quickly, ate some poison from the ant traps we had and died en masse.  I read up on it a little on Google and I've decided that they most likely hatched from the raw oats I had (foolishly) stored in a bag from the co-op...  those oats have been in there a loooong time since I haven't been to the co-op since I don't even know when.  Apparently foods like that have a small amount of insect eggs in them when ya buy 'em.  Isn't that lovely?  I guess they can't control everything.  My husband had bought some containers a couple weeks ago and transferred the oats into one... there were seemingly hundreds of bugs in that container.  Gross-out City.  The rest of the bugs flourished because some rice and some cereal had spilled in the back of the cabinet where I couldn't see it.    So I had to take everything out of the cabinets, vacuum everything, throw away anything that wasn't sealed and then put everything back.  Then I had to take a shower because I felt like bugs were on me.  The lesson here kids?  Keep your grains in sealed containers.  Duh.  I hope they don't come back.

What a night.
