My first update this week. I realize this. It's also my first update from my new laptop. It's an
Acer Aspire 5670. Dual core centrino 1.6 Ghz with a very spiffy ATI Mobility Radeon x1400. That's a 512 mb video card. On my laptop. Suffice to say, it runs BF2 quite a bit better than my desktop does at this point.
Also new is my LJ client. I've been an avid Semagic user since I started my LJ however many years ago. I've gone off on the odd tangent here and there, trying out other clients just to see what was out there but I always ended up back on Semagic. Now, however, I've changed for good.
Deepest Sender is a plugin for Firefox that is clean, easy, and has all of the features that I use. I highly recommend it if you're already a Firefox user.
On the RPG front, we had an excellet session on Tuesday. Darrell's HARP game is starting to fall into it's groove and I'm really starting to enjoy my character beyond merely kicking a lot of ass with a sword.
This weekend is Easter (also known as Pin the Prophet to the Pole day) and we're doing dinner for both families - one in London, and one here. Tonight, however, is the first of what I hope to make an annual event: The Good Friday Gaming Night. Some BF2, perhaps some Rise of Nations. All good.
Oh, and speaking of Rise of Nations, I've had a few cracks at the Rise of Legends demo and - performance issues aside - I'm quite happy with what I've seen so far. The gameplay is very reminiscent of RoN, but with an excessive dose of fantasy nift added to the recipe. I'm betting Rise of Legends will be a success.
Anyway. All for now. A&W hamburgers on their way to my house.
