Purge

I'm a bit of a freak today.  Here's why:

Yesterday me and a few Kevin's managed to lift my 140 lb television set from my first floor all the way up two flights of stairs to my attic (which is finished).  The attic was used in the past but had been neglected for a few years due to the fact that we have no central air and the attic is like a sauna in the summer.  Since we're finally getting central air this year, we went ahead with the switch.  And we love it.

However, since the attic has been neglected as a living space for so long, it has taken well to its second roll of storage area.  Now that we plan on actually spending time up here (and yeah, I'm updating from my attic for the first time evar) I have to go through all the crap that has accumulated up here and get rid of or move it all.

The process is always quite nostalgic.  I love encountering all sorts of stuff that used to have meaning to me, reminiscing about it, and then pitching it in the fucking garbage.  One such thing is my Diablo 2 Special Edition box (number 32420 / 70000 btw) which had been stuffed with old computer game manuals for some reason.  The original MechCommander manuals as well as the sequel.  The manual for Heavy Gear, Seven Kingdoms, and Incubation (which actually managed to entertain me in multiplayer for a little while - or at least until all my friends realized that I always just took lasers and they were pretty much unstoppable).  Now, they all go in the garbage!!

house and home, video games, nostalga, pc gaming
