I really like this - I love your style and the way the story is going. The boy who knocked Luke over has me fascinated, and the conversation between Luke and Vader was very well done. I hope you update soon.

BTW, one of your italicized words (It was a military vessel as the officer had stated. And as such, should not have a young boy as a passenger.) needs the first slash taken out. I don't know if someone's already told you.

Thank you for the compliments! And I'm glad you liked the character of the boy. Usually I don't make up new characters in my stories, besides those with small parts like the officers, but he sort of evolved somehow.

Thanks for pointing out the italicized word mistake, I knew there had to be a few mistakes scattered about in it since I didn't go over it as carefully as I usually would. I'd wanted to get it posted before I literally fell asleep on top of the computer.

You're adding intriguing new character after intriguing new character. I wonder if the boy has anything to do with Jamus?

Poor Luke, lonely and bored. And now his father is treating him like an eight year old to protect. I can't see that really working.

Next chapter soon please.

Hopefully the next chapter won't take as long for me to get ready to post as this one did.

I'm glad you liked the new characters. As I told someone else, I usually don't make up any new characters when I write fanfiction, unless it's for very small parts, so I was hesitant about it at first but they kind of wrote themselves. You know with everything so rushed in the Star Wars films, we never got to see any of the regular day-to-day things that the characters were involved in and people they interacted with.

I can't see Luke sitting still too much longer either. But I think in a way, though he may not be able to admit it yet, he enjoys being under his father's protection. And sometimes he may act like a child...after all, he was denied any contact with his father growing up so there may be all kinds of childish thoughts and feelings and reactions trickling out.

Great update and I am intrigued by the appearance of the Force Sensitive boy. I really enjoy your take on the Luke/Vader relationship and the dialogue between them is excellent!

I'm glad you like the relationship I have developing between Vader and Luke. They're both kind of feeling their way slowly towards each other and both really want to know the other but they aren't to the point where they can actually say it.

I'm glad you like the boy too. There will be more interaction in a later chapter between him and Luke. Luke's not really that much older that they can't connect with each other a little...that is, if the boy ever learns Luke could be a friend and not an enemy.

So glad you continued this story. I really like the dynamics you have going between Luke and Vader. Vader being so protective, and Luke resenting it, but secretly I think he likes it too.

Can't wait for more!

Thank you. I really enjoy writing about Vader and Luke, they are both such complex characters and that wasn't explored much during the films or in the books (I've always thought the character of Luke in the novels wasn't much like the one introduced to us in the films). Here they are, on opposite sides of the war, but with a growing attachment between them.

I think Luke likes his father's protectiveness too. And, like most children, wants his father's attention but is too proud to let that be known yet.
